It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

When Amy showed her true self.

Do you think Gone Girl needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Don't think a follow up book would be a good choice based on the way the book ended. Everything was wrapped up. Can't imagine what Would come next but more of the same.

    Any additional comments?

Overall the book was ok but not as good as the reviews led me to believe.

Will Trent is a brilliant agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Newly in love, he is beginning to put a difficult past behind him. Then a local college student goes missing, and he is inexplicably kept off the case by his supervisor and mentor, deputy director Amanda Wagner. Will cannot fathom Amanda's motivation, until the two of them literally collide in an abandoned orphanage they have both been drawn to for different reasons. Decades before - when Will's father was imprisoned for murder - this was his home....

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

    Most definitely

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. I couldn't stop listening because I wanted to see how things turned out but sad it had to end. Just realized this was book 6. Going to go back and listen to #1.

Which character – as performed by Kathleen Early – was your favorite?

    Will Trent

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Susan Erickson did a great job in bringing the characters to life.

    Any additional comments?

I decided to listen to this book because I had just finished another book from Nora Roberts that I couldn't get enough of. This book started a little slow and was not something I would normally listen to but I ended up being really good. Was looking forward to books 2 & 3.

Daughter of a cold, controlling mother and an anonymous donor, studious, obedient Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking too much at a nightclub and allowing a strange man’s seductive Russian accent to lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. The events that followed changed her life forever. Twelve years later, the woman now known as Abigail Lowery lives alone on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she works at home designing sophisticated security systems.

What did you like best about this story?

This book was well written. My first by Nora Roberts. I was hooked from the beginning and hated when it had to end.

Have you listened to any of Julia Whelan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Julia Whelan did a great job of narrating. I am looking to see if I can find any of her other books to see if I would be interested in them. Was hoping she did another of the Nora Roberts books, but no luck.

    Any additional comments?

I would recommend this to everyone.
