If you ever wondered how the financial crisis could happen, this book will show how it's a story of regular people. Perfect length and I enjoyed every second.
All books like these can be a bit dry and it sorted started out that way, but it picks up quickly. A much easier read than a Christopher Hitchens book and just as brilliant. Sam Harris can really lay down the facts.
Best narrator I've heard, hands down. He made that book come alive. There are a few standout books I've run into on audible that I still think about all the time, this one is added to that list.
This book has a lot more humor than I am used to for a non fiction book. I found the content very interesting and the author in her research asks all the questions you would be to chicken to ask.
Not only does this book chronicle the horror of what meth can do in an individuals life but it also looks at the bigger drug picture. Narrator is good as well.
Most people who are on the same level of mental capability as Daniel Tammet (like being able to do in his head that makes calculators run out of digits) are lacking the ability to describe what goes on their mind. Luckily for anybody readying this book Daniel is a one in a billion and does a great job of describing what goes on in that brain.
A huge amount of work must have gone into the research for this book. It is comprehensive and very well written. No matter how much you think you know about North Korea, this book will still astonish.
I enjoyed this book from start to finish. They are truly one of the greatest rock and roll bands onstage and off. Crazy stories, check. Early life of each artist, check. Rise to power and back down again, check.
It was a real struggle to get through this book. The author spends so much time adding adverbs, adjectives and over-flowery descriptions that it made the story hard to follow. And there wasn't much of a story or a point to the whole book. Now I will say some of the descriptions of the battles and death scenes were vivid and raw but that is about the best thing I can say about it.
This is a story about a junkie, a junkie who just happens to be a fantastic writer. I listened to it every free second I could. One of the best audible books I've gotten so far.
