First appearing in print in 1890, the character of Sherlock Holmes has now become synonymous worldwide with the concept of a super sleuth. His creator, Conan Doyle, imbued his detective hero with intellectual power, acute observational abilities, a penchant for deductive reasoning and a highly educated use of forensic skills. Indeed, Doyle created the first fictional private detective who used what we now recognize as modern scientific investigative techniques.

The only problem I have with this series is that I am awaiting the next episode with impatience! I bought this after much comparing, I wanted a voice I could enjoy, one who could do a variety of voices, and a series that didn't end up costing a lot, as I intend to own every story. This is value for money, and worth the wait. The only improvement possible is a multiple cast, but I chose cost over that.
Well done! and thanks for getting back to me - there will be three volumes when finished, and the second is ready and due to be offered for download any time now.

Using eight principles, a variety of true stories and their years of experience as professional psychologists, Cloud and Townsend enlighten readers on how to make empowering choices-and how to build the life they want to live. It may seem impossible but it's true: taking personal responsibility is not only liberating, it is the best-and perhaps the only-way for a person to get what they really want out of life.

This is MY FAVOURITE BOOK for 2009. Each year I choose my favourite out of the 20-30 I read/listen to.
This book was revolutionary for me in two directions. 1) inward - helping me to 'Man Up' and own my situation, whether it be my fault or not. 2) outward - It makes it very clear to see why people are having their issues, and how to help them see that they need to OWN their situation too. Helping people OUT of Victim Mentality INTO Victory mentality.
It's NOT my fault, but it IS my problem.
It's MY job to deal with it.

Real-estate entrepreneur Bill Dallas's charmed life changed dramatically when he was charged, convicted, and sentenced to five years in prison for grand-theft embezzlement. Lessons from San Quentin tells the amazing true story of how one man's life was changed for the better due to the hardships encountered at the legendary maximum-security prison.

I came across this book while searching for George Barna. The fact that there was only one very negative review was intriguing - George Barna's stuff is so solid and foundational, he wouldn't put his name with rubbish. The preview sounded good, so I bought it... and listened to it all before writing this.

The Reader is easy to listen to.
The story is well told and hooked me in from the start.
the Format is Good, with a Transformation Principle at the end of each chapter.
The Content is Strong, and Applicable.
This is an illustration of the resurrection power of Jesus to bring a broken, selfish man back to 'Life in abundance'. Chapter 14 alone is worth buying the book for.

Well done Bill Dallas, thanks for sharing your scars, I have some Youth including my son who I'm going to offer this book to. And I'm going to preach portions of this story this coming year.
And George Barna, when are we going to see some of your books on Audible?

If I had noticed that this one was a) Abridged or b) a different reader, I would not have purchased it, but would have looked further, and found that Audible are having some digital copyright issues. I would then do what I am doing now - not listening to it (even though I am half way through) preferring instead to await the unabridged version.

I HOPE that the unabridged versions of book 6 & 7 are read by Davina Porter as I like her voices better, she is extremely skilled at a variety of characters and accents, both 'male' and female.

Geraldine James is also very good, but different - not the voices I have come to 'know' as Claire, Jamie, etc. I would enjoy listening to her reading again, but in a different series. I have already searched Davina Porter as a reader, and will buy books that she reads, even if I don't know the author - she is that good. I have not done this before.

I await in anticipation for the next book of this truly fantastic series, and anything further by Davina Porter.
