I absolutely love the humor found throughout this book. Its sarcastic, and typically self directed which is something that generally works for me. So humor is definitely the best part of this book IMO.
I just really liked the flow of this story. It was a short story, and I appreciated the fact that it didn't feel like a full length book crammed into a smaller space. It was a short story (about 4.5 hours I think) and it was written like one. The flow was great and it really didn't feel rushed at all to me.
With Amanda Ronconi, the main character is always my favorite, particularly in Molly Harper's books, which are all written in the first person. I find that she does the heroine's voice so well, that it doesn't really bother me if the male voices aren't perfect.
This was a book that I DID listen to all in one sitting.
I absolutely love this series. It is seariously funny and the characters are captivating. I will be the first to admit that the narrator's portrayal of Bones drove me nuts. HOWEVER, once I actually read these books, instead of just listening to them, I realized that she really is doing a good job. i.e. Bones really does say "Hallo" instead of "Hello". Personally, I don't like this, in the book or audio, but it is correct and not the fault of the narrator. I honestly think that only a man can make the Brittish Cockney accent sound masculine, but hey, that's just my opinion. It was a fair trade for a stellar portrayal of Cat. It was extremely easy for me to get over this though.
