If you are obsessed w/ the history of the characters.

It is difficult to believe that the author of

Anna Field's narration is the perfect example of how an awesome narrator can only marginally help an awful book. Ocassionally a great narrator can really save a so-so book. But even Ms. Field couldn't pull this loser out of the mire.

Characters weren't the problem. It was the depressing aspect of the story that did it - no one is that dumb. Maybe SEP was having real life problems and delt them by venting in the book. Good therapy just not a good read.

I drive two hours every day to work so I listen to a lot of books. Every other SEP book I've read thus far has been an upbeat, entertaining experience -

The story is good. The narrator isn't. Ashford McNab who narrated the earlier books in this series would have helped a lot. Although it sounds as though she actually is attempting to imitate McNab's style and voice. A failure. Drat.

Can't tell you - haven't finished it.

She attempts to drawl out her words and ruined scenes that might have been nice. I'll have to read the book to find out. Her technique spoiled a lot of it.

I'll let you know when I finish the book - haven't bought the wood ware version yet and can't convice myself to listen to the rest.

Don't spend a credit on it. Read the book to avoid a poor narrator.

Interesting in an 'out there' way, gritty and amazingly narrated.

Joe Ledger - how can you even ask. He is your basic all American who hasn't forgotten how attractive modest can be; hilarious at times; not to be missed.

Great narration can make an OK book just as poor narration can kill a great one. Ray Porter enhances every book I've listened to w/ his narration. He does it all - his accents and American dialects are excellent - women too which is not an easy feat.I now look for his narration and will try an author I an unfamiliar with simply because Mr. Porter will bring out the best in it.

Both - laughing and crying.

Don't miss this series. Wild storyline, great narrator.
