In Grimsgrave Hall, enigmatic Nicholas Brisbane has inherited a ruined estate, replete with uncanny tenants and one unwanted houseguest: Lady Julia Grey. Despite his admonitions to stay away, Lady Julia arrives in Yorkshire to find Brisbane as remote and maddeningly attractive as ever. Cloistered together, they share the moldering house with the proud but impoverished remnants of an ancient family: the sort that keeps their bloodline pure and their secrets close.

    M&M says: "Compelling romance continues"
"More mystery than romance, fair but not terrific."
    Overall

This mystery takes a while to develop but comes together in the end. Over all there is very little romance in the story. Strong gay/lesbian subplot that the reader should know about before purchasing the audiobook. The narrater has an annoying voice for some characters but does very well with others. Overall just a fair experience.

USA Today best-selling author Jo Goodman begins a delightful new quartet of Regency romances with Let Me Be the One. The four gentlemen of the compass club-North, South, East and West-are all unwed. Now North has fallen for the charms of Libby Penrose, an intelligent beauty with a strong determination to remain unattached. When North awakens feelings deep within Libby, whirlwind events lead to their marriage. Yet a dark secret threatens to tear their newfound happiness apart.

    Heather says: "a wonderfull suprise"
    "wonderful mystery/romance"
    Overall

The story gives you just enough to keep you very interested without giving too much away and becoming predictable. The characters are believable and desirable. There is romance, mystery, humor and even tragedy. I found I cared about what happened to these people. I would have liked the narrator to do more with the voices but the story overcame her lack of performance. Overall very enjoyable.

Daisy Flattery is a free spirit with a soft spot for strays and a weakness for a good story. Why else would she agree to the outrageous charade offered by her buttoned-down workaholic neighbor, Linc Blaise? The history professor needs to have a fiancée in order to capture his dream job, and Daisy is game to play the role. But something funny happens on their way to the altar that changes everything.

    "good story poor language"
    Overall

This was a fun story with good characters. Unfortunately the author had a poor use of the English language and resorted to curse words repeatedly.

The prim librarian is finally getting her chance to direct Avalon's annual holiday pageant, and she's determined to make it truly spectacular. But it might just require one of those Christmas miracles she's always read about. The problem is her codirector is recovering former child star Eddie Haven, a long-haired, tattooed lump of coal in Maureen's pageant stocking. Eddie can't stand Christmas, but a court order from a judge has landed him right in the middle of the merrymaking.

    Jane says: "Christmas-in Wiggs Style"
    "poor choice for Christmas story"
    Overall

The language was foul, the story tried to be PC with little or no mention of God. Shallow plot and characters popping into the story for no purpose. Poor excuse for a Christmas story.
