"The. Most. Incredible. Book. Ever. Written"
There is no way to properly answer this question - the storyline, the reader, the rich period detail, Follet's research - it's like asking me to pick my favorite child.
Character development
His ability to keep so many characters so different in this 40 hour book
Yes, but I can't give that away in a review
This is one of the most incredible books ever written - which is odd given how different it is from the spy thrillers I normally listen to. This is the only book I've ever listened to 3 times.
"Not my favorite Allon book - but OK"
Yes - if you like Silva and want to read the entire Gabriel Allon Series. No - if this is his only book you plan to read by him.
Absolutely
This guy is TERRIBLE. But, I've been listening to some great readers lately (I'll listen to anything read by George Guidall - who incidently, read Daniel Silva's most recent book). The audio quality is terrible and the reader sounds like a robot. He isn't the worst reader I've ever heard, but he's pretty close. I would expect the author to force the publisher to have this book re-read / re-published.

"Great First Harvath Book"
yup - if you like black ops / spy thrillers
no, but that's only because I've listened to all of Brad Thor's books and am re-listening to this first one for the second time. Thor gets better over time
Scot Harvath
Ski more often
"Good, but not great"
In typical Berry fashion, a good historical / archeological fictional yarn
Yes - if you like fiction stories that weave fiction and non-fiction (like from Dan Brown) you'll like this.
Tom Sagan
Yes - this is not a Cotton Malone book, but it does reference The Magellan Billet and it's leader, Stephanie Nell. In this story, I found her brief appearance completely unecessary and to be honest, she was quite annoying (not a spoiler)
Book was OK, but not great. Berry has written far better books. But if you're a Berry fan, you should definitely not skip this.
"Worst Bourne ever"
I'm not sure where to begin - the reader, the story line, the writing - they have slowly been getting worse but this book is an absolute disaster. Bourne is a minor character at best - and his skills are not longer a factor - he's just a vanilla character
The story isn't remotely believable - the bad guy is a comple joke
He's not an engaging reader - I've listened to him before and he was OK - I think part of my opinion of Holter is tied to the terrible story he was forced to read
Not really - I love Bourne and even like Lustbader - but this book is just terrible
Dont waste your time - but if you're like me, you'll read it anyway because you love Bourne
"One of Berenson's best"
Half of the experience is the story - and the other half is the supurb performance by George Guidall
Yes and no. Yes - great story. No - I listen to all audiobooks while commuting to work - if I pull into the parking lot at the high point of a chapter, I just save it till next time. Not the book's fault.
Absolutely the best audiobook performer I've ever listened to. His ability to play so many different characters, accents, languages, genders - is amazing. I love his voice.
Not exactly
If you like Vince Flynn or Brad Thor, you'll like this book. Some reviews were critical of this book - I have no idea why - it's one of his better ones (I've listened to them out-of-order). If you're politically conservative, you'll love this series. If you're a moderate to far left liberal, you probably hate it. In these books, unlike real life, terrorists aren't treated with velvet gloves.
"Great Book / Great Reader"
Guidall Is Awesome
Not necessarily - lots of detail that has to be explained. But that's why I'm listening to an unabridged book and not watching the movie version
No favorite scene
Yes - unfortunately, there are radical Islamics in the real world
Not as good as Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, but very good nonetheless and in the same genre
"Great story, but definitely not Crichton"
Too many loose ends - Crichton wouldn't have left soo many holes (I'm sure he would have loved to finish it)
predictable, loose ends
very good
nope
The book is definitely worth listening to - especially if you are a Crichton fan. But its definitely not his best. Lower your expectations a bit and you'll be fine.
"Great Book - TERRIBLE narrator"
I've listened to all the Mitch Rapp books and am re-purchasing / re-listening to the recently re-released first 4 books in unabridged format (originally the first 4 were abridged). Transfer of Power is absolutely incredible in the unabridged format, however, this Nick Sullivan narrator guy one of the worst audiobook readers I've ever listened to (and I've listened to alot of audiobooks). Part of the problem is that I'm used to George Guidall, the guy who read most of the Mitch Rapp books - and he is absolutely incredible. THis Nick guy is so bad I would have stopped listening to the book if I had not already listened to the abridged version and knew the book was fantastic. The guy draws his words out - reads s-l-o-w-l-y at times - very irritating. However, Vince Flynn books are so incredible - it's worth the agony of listening to this guy!
"Athena Project - sort of a letdown"
I LOVE all of Brad Thor's previous books - and as much as I hate to say it, this one was a real letdown. I know these girls are no Brad Thor, but I found them to be quite whiney and a little too obsessed with sex and men in general.
