"Loved it until the ending...."
Wonderful voices by Coomes.
Switching to past story
Maude's daughter's announcement.
Not really.
Wish the ending had been a bit less ambiguous; wanted to really know what happened to the main character.
"Still love Susan Hill's books!"
Real surprise ending.
Cat is my favorite, even though I like Simon, even with his flaws.
Only hear him on Hill's books.
I really, really am put out with the fact that Hill kills off characters that we have come to know and care about. If I wanted doom and gloom, I'd read True Crime novels.
Even with the comment above, I still come back for more of Susan Hill's books!
"Love Susan Hill's Serrailler books!"
Probably not; I don't reread books (or listen to them twice).
Anything by Ruth Rendell. They are just a cut above most of the quickly hammered out books.
He reads beautifully and the subtle difference in voices of characters is masterful.
Can't say without ruining the story for others.
"Latest great book from an always-wonderful writer."
Twists of fate.
Rad's last visit to Lucy.
June's triumph.
Shock at some of the twists.
Felt as though the end could have used more detail to what happened to the characters. I think I can figure out what came next but I tend to like the author to spell it out a bit more for me so I can be sure my thoughts are the same as hers.
"Wonderful story; great cliff-hanger"
This book sweeps you up in a story about beautiful music and a thought-provoking mystery. The end of the book keeps you hanging waiting for the next one to resolve a mystery in Gamache's own life. Can't wait for the next book!
Gamache -- always!
All good; hard to choose.
A forgotten monastery sweeps you up in a mystery within a mystery....
"Another great book from Tana French!"
Always love her books and this is an absolutely absorbing story from a great author.
Absolutely!
Wonderful variety of voices.
