I think this book is by far the best of the House of Night series; even though this is one of the short novella's. I do not tell any of the story line in my reviews because I don't like anyone telling me any part of any book. Just let me know if it is worth my credit or not. For me, Dragon came to life in this one and end up one of my very favorite characters. I really enjoyed this one.
If you have ever listened to or read one of Dekker's books, you must check this one out! From the beginning to the end it had my full attention. You always have to be ready for that twist in his books and this one delivered just as expected. If you are a Dekker fan, you will not be disappointed. It might get a bit imaginative at the end, but which one of his books doesn't. I've listened to it several times. Kevin King does a masterful job narrating as well. Delivers a five star rating on all counts in my book!
Wow, if you ever believed in the phrase "An eye for an eye" then you might enjoy this one. While his paybacks might not be because of what someone did to him, he doe indeed pay them back for what they did to others. He makes sure of the 'errors of their ways' and then deals out his own form of justice. He's not your every day serial killer. Had to rate this one less than a five because of the language of a couple of characters. Nick Landrum does a wonderful job narrating, too. I would really love to hear more of Dexter, just without the foul language. Would be just as good without that.
I have no idea how or why this book is rated so high. I was under the impression that this book was hilarious. All of the funny parts of this one could be summed up in less than one chapter. Just wasn't one of my favorites. Then again, I didn't enjoy the movie either.
Oh my goodness. Are there enough words to describe how good this book is? I don't think so. If you didn't read or listen to this book, and just went to the movie, then you missed a LOT. The narrator did a wonderful job (in all three books of this series) and hat's off to Ms. Collins for her creation. Don't wait! Listen to this one now!
I must say it took me a while to listen to this one; only because I was on a trip and kept falling asleep. Once I returned home, I started at the beginning and really enjoyed the entire thing. Go with your imagination on this one, realize Nobody is living in a graveyard and enjoy it. I know I did!
I have listened to all of the books in the House of Night series, but this one just didn't cut it. May have started out with a good plot, but it was just like the author didn't know how she wanted it to end.
I have listened to many of Ted Dekker's books and have enjoyed them thoroughly! This one, however, was not one of his best. While the plot of the book is a good one, the narration is absolutely ridiculous! I can't believe Frank Peretti narrated it at all. I could easily tell when Ted Dekker was reading because I wasn't rolling on the floor laughing. There were times when you had to rewind to hear what Mr. Peretti said because he said it in such a hurry, and in such a low voice. I felt that the female characters were made out to be idiots from the narration. Do all women sound that way? No. While I love Ted Dekker's books, I would not recommend this one. Listen to the sample before you purchase the book. Can't wait until Audible gets some more of Dekker's books for download.
