Really love the lost fleet series, and this book did not disappoint. I got it the first day it came out. I have listened to all the books several times, and I always find something new. I can hardly wait for the next book.
If you are not a needlework fan then another series might be more to your liking. It takes a few chapters to get into the mystery, and before the mystery most of the talk is between the characters about yarn and needlework. I enjoyed it and will purchase more, a good listen and the murder is gross and sick as in some.
The story continues, all the ups and downs of a good tale. I think these books are a must have item.
Glad this finally arrived as an audio book. I still have the paperback editions of all of these. I read them over and over. These are just as good. The story continues to build, as each book gives you a little more. Well worth it.
I bought this series when they first came out in paperback. I just loved them, and when I saw that they had come to audible, I couldn't wait till they all were available. This first one sets the stage and introduces the characters to you. The story is good, but you can tell that there is more to come. I don't want to spoil it, but I do love the big cats. I'll take one when they are available. I think they story improves with each book. Of course when they came out in paperback, it was only once a year. Really glad I didn't have to wait that long again.
This is the last book, and it was a decent story. I thought this one dragged a little in the middle as they were traveling to the elderlings, but in the end it was ok. I felt a little sorry for the main character as he didn't get his happy ending.
I liked this book better than the first book. It had a better story and less filler. Only one more in the series and I hope it gets even better.
The characters come to life in this 2nd book and seem more alive and interesting. Easier to follow the story in this 2nd book.
It turned out to be an ok listen in the end. At first I was a little afraid that it wouldn't get better, but I did enjoy the book. I bought them all at once so I'm glad that it turned out to be a good if predictable story.
I enjoyed this book.. Different story worth the listen, if you like fantasy or greek myths.
My DH says we saw the movie, but I don't remember it. The same goes for this story, it is a typical Philip K. Dick story. Short and stunted. Some of his short stories are very good, but most try and trick you. Maybe in the 60's, but now they are just pre-dick-able.
I enjoyed the historical parts of this book, and the story was ok, but I was very disappointed in the ending. I felt that after the build up the ending was flat. The history woven into the story was the best part of this book. The love story part was just sad. It's an ok listen for a long drive or if its on sale.
