"A good listen"
I liked it it was a good listen
None that I have listened to
Very good
Nothing ened like I thought it would.
I thought it was going to be more about her life on broadway.
"Loved it"
I liked heraing about the deep south. They live totally different lives then I know.
I did not like the scene in the barn.
Good book the coming of age of young people in the deep south blacks, whites, women, and the old order of things.
"Educational"
I liked it but this is not for people without a knowledge or background in the Holocaust studies. I have taught the Holocaust to HS students for 33 years and this gives me more in the subject to think about but I believe for the average reader this is going to be a siappointment.
"Great little story"
This is the new people in American and the troubles they have sealing with the Government and other people.
I liked the way she acted - very non committal, take whats offered, not get to excited.
"Not much to it"
I think what the guy did was a very good experience but gaining 75 pounds and then losing it = not much there.
Everything was spelled out predictable.
His voice
no
lucky it did not take to long to listen to.
"Loved the story"
Yes I a a history teacher and the book gives an account of the horrible times of Hungary during WWII for the Jews.
Yes but it kept me running for a month.
I would like some other accounts of people in Eastern Europe or Europe in general during WWII that were not Jews. Most of the books I read are great but are written by Jews. I like their prospective and know it was a horrible time for them but I would like other views of the history.
"OK but not great"
The book jumps from Cuba to Albany. I do not know what the auther wanted to convey to the reader.
No he jumps around to much.
I liked the Cuban experience but he cut it off as soon as it began to get interesting. I liked some of the characters but roaming around the streets of Albany was just too much.
I guess its a period peice and I just did not get it.
Too jumpy for me.
"Small town America"
I'm a teacher in a small town in Montana. The story is great. Many of the charactors are in every town around here. People drink in these towns and the weather is always cold in the winter. It's -20 outside right now. I enjoyed listening to the three stories and they captured small town America in the northern midwest.
"Easy listen"
The book jumps around and the descrption of the places are narrow. I just could not get into the book.
"Better than I remember."
I am a history teacher. The listen is as good as when I read the book 40 years ago. Fantastic, every worker in th US should listen to this book.
