"There are only a few words needed for this one..."
Oh my gosh!!! The best so far!!! I'm tempted to start it over again and I just finished!
I've read them in order and they are all great but this one deserves 10 stars!
Oh his Scottish brogue melts me!
I cried - I'm not a crier.
WOW
"Longest listen ever!"
I seriously doubt it.
My answer would depend on the subject matter of the next book. This book was titled "Anne Perry: The Murder of the Century" but it should have been titled something like "A Deep Psychiatric Dive into Mind of a Possibly Homosexual Murderer that Lived in Wonderland." There was far too much psychiatric analysis - and I enjoy that perspective but, this was overkill.
A different narrator could help but I would have preferred reading it myself to the dull narration.
Nothing new.
Read the book if you want the information but be prepared for excess droll. The timeline and subject jumps around constantly too.
"Loved it!"
I'd loved everything Molly Harper has written to date! Amanda Ronconi is the perfect narrator for this series. Well, this book is really a spin off of the original series with guest appearances by charactors. .
"Great!"
Just like the first three in this series, this book is great. Narration and story make for another awesome listen.
"Narrator problems..."
The story was good and solid but I had to try three different times to get through the narrator's accent. Please don't get me wrong - he's a good narrator but his own British or Australian (I really couldn't tell WHAT his accent was) totally destroyed the LA accents needed for this book. And the voice he used for Tabatha had me flashing back to my youth and Saturday mornings with H R Pufnstuf. Overall, even though I enjoyed the story I won't purchase any more in the series unless they change the narrator. I will try a more appropriate book using this guy though.
"I really like this entire series..."
I've read each book as it's released and they are all great. Please don't consider just for YA.
"This is one of the best..."
I read around 150 books each year (yes, it's a hobby!) and "The Help" is among my top five in a lifetime filled with books. You laugh, cry, cheer and fear for these wonderful women! YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS CHOICE. Oh, and the book is MUCH better than the movie!
I REALLY wish the author would consider a sequel to this book. : )
"Not just for YA"
I'm over 40 and really enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
"Unfortunately....."
I should have listened to the others that stated the first three hours were pure torment! I've purchased over 200 Audible books and this is one of three that I couldn't make myself listen through to the end. It is probably a great book but I'll just have to wait for the movie. If you feel you can handle three hours of history and confusion, go for it - it may be worth it by the end. I gave it two stars in each category because of the possibilities after hour three.
"Beware of narrator...."
I could have enjoyed this book so much more without the mouth smacking and swallowing. Every narrator has his/her moments but this was constant throughout the reading. I've never taken the time to comment negatively on a narrator but feel others should be forewarned. The other books in the series have the same narrator so I will be passing on this one.
