"Outstanding"
This book is interesting on many levels. The characters are believable, you empathize and connect with them quickly. The narration was perfect. The story was so believable, you wonder if it's true. Marion's life story will stay with you.
"An unforgettable journey into one man's remarkable life, and an epic story about the power, intimacy, and curious beauty of the work of healing others." this quote says it all
"Is it about food? or sex?"
A review by Marcia Stacy
The reader was certainly very sensual, and it brought the whole concept of food and the smells, textures, taste and preparation into sharp focus. A delicious read. I would not recommend it to men who don't cook, they would be bored. Our book club loved it and we re-created the turkey dinner, it was wonderful!
"good book"
An exciting tale from WW2, lost in a tropical valley of head hunters.
Because its a true story it doesn't have all the violence, sex and rock and roll that you would expect, but it would have been a pretty harrowing experience. I would love to see the movie. A nice quick story and entertaining to boot!
"Fascinating! Who would have guessed?"
I loved this book, it was very informative and, well, fascinating! I listened to it several times because I listen while I work and sometimes will miss things. It was great to hear again and again.
I am interested in how things work and how different people see the world. It is another one of those quantum conundrums, how we see ourselves and the world around us, makes so much difference to what we see and experience.
I think Ms. Hogshead is a lovely, funny, sweet and likeable person. She is intelligent and insightful and I enjoyed her reading so much. You can actually hear her smile!
I recommend this book to anyone in sales or anyone who is interested in how the world of sales and advertising works. I enjoyed all of this book.
I e-mailed her and asked for the F-test, she gave me a coupon code to get a free test.
It helps if you know which type you are.
"How our World was Changed Forever"
His genius.
The amazing story of how personal computing became an integral part of our lives. To think that from now on, most of the world will not remember a time before computers. This book is the history of how it all began.
Steve's personality is memorable, he was such an unlikable person yet his genius somehow makes his arrogant behavior OK.
Didn't notice it much, which is a good thing, it was all about the story.
An unforgettable journey into one man's remarkable life, and how personal computing began. A story about the power, intimacy, and curious nature of those people who changed our lives forever. The world will now be different than it was in t he time before these amazing people. Was it them, or was it simply time? We'll never know for sure.
One thing is for sure, our world is different because of Apple and Steve Jobs.
"Would not recommend this book"
a good story
no
yes
The story line was pretty lame. I would make a movie out of this book, all about the visuals. It would be deliciously mysterious and evil. Teenagers would love it.
"Total Goofyness"
Whimsical, Fun, unabashed adventures of our unlikely hero, Tucker; his man-woman sidekick and the talking fruit bat. Pure fantasy with a surprisingly thought provoking outcome.
"Creative and Surreal"
If I had read all the books he alluded to in the story line, it would have made more sense. I lost track a few times because of these references where I had to stop and try to figure out the meaning. I really liked the concept, but I wasn't aware of what I was getting into, so it took a while to 'get it'.
See above
No. She was fine.
The aftermath ending didn't need to be there, I thought.
Brave author, which I appreciate. Perhaps it was just over my head.
