The mining ship El Cavador is far out from Earth, in the deeps of the Kuiper Belt, beyond Pluto. Other mining ships, and the families that live on them, are few and far between this far out. So when El Cavador’s telescopes pick up a fast-moving object coming in-system, it’s hard to know what to make of it. It’s massive and moving at a significant fraction of the speed of light.

El Cavador has other problems. Their systems are old and failing. The family is getting too big for the ship. There are claim-jumping corporate ships bringing Asteroid Belt tactics to the Kuiper Belt.

    Story
Would you listen to Earth Unaware again? Why?

I would listen to it again in a heartbeat its full of action and difficult decisions. I feel that the characters where developed in an amazing way that drew me in and made me see myself in their place. The book turned into my story, and was truly amazing.

What other book might you compare Earth Unaware to and why?

It's unique in the ender universe, but probably is most similar in form to shadow puppets. It takes place primarily in space on ships. It has a lot of the same types of action suspense and character dilemmas.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The extraction of survivors from the ships left behind from the first bugger attack.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes, and I almost did.

    Any additional comments?

Loved it and am excited for the release of the sequel!
