"Young author, Karen Witemeyer, has a real talent.."
...for storytelling, and I hope that Audible will feature all of her books.
Set in the old American West, A TAILOR-MADE BRIDE is quite a cute story and one wonders how our heroine, feisty, high spirited, Hanna Richards, an Artistic Dressmaker is going to overcome the abrupt and brusque manner of one Jericho ???JT??? Tucker. Owner of the local livery.
Sparks fly and feelings get hurt, but...
Love does conquer all, even a stinking old widower falls under the loving kindness of Hanna.
Lots of adventures in this story, one you will want to add to your inspirational library.
I really enjoy these wonderful books.
You won't have to fast forward because of graphic sex or violence. A pure listening joy.
"This Is Not Fairy Tale"
The Bible * The Mahdi * The Koran * Islamic World Domination * Jesus Christ.* The End Times.
To say this book is a frightening read/ listen, is a mild statement.
I wonder how many Christians really know just what Muslims believe and teach.
The author has researched this with all due diligence.
What an eye opener.
"Extraordinarily -Unputdownable- Superior Narrator"
Extraordinary ???Fear- Profound ???Rage- Unfathomable - Victorious -Veneration.
These are just a few words that describe what I felt while listening to this stupendous book.
In my long life, I have read thousands of books. Mostly all of them enjoyable.
However there have only been four that have affected me deeply.
1. The Bible
2. The Power of One: (Bryce Courtney)
3. Bonheoffer Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy: (Eric Mataxes)
And now
UNBROKEN
Wonderfully written by Laura Hillenbrand.
Expertly narrated by Edward Herrmann
All I can say is if you never read anything else, these four books are a must read. Do yourself a favor and find out what I am talking about. It will be well worth your time and treasure.
By the way all, of the above are available on audible.com
"Great Story"
Why this wonderful title by Karen Witemeyer only received one star is beyond me.
I bought it because of the author and the reviews from Amazon. Also I sought out her web page.
This is a peach of a story with lots of interesting happenings. Disappointments along with surprises for a young miss who thought she was to become the wife of a book peddler, only to discover to her mortification, he had different plans.
But now great excitement is ahead, not to mention true and lasting love.
Set in the Early American West... Texas of course.
An aristocrat wealthy Englishman comes to Texas to set up a sheep ranch.
One little girl who has not spoken a word since the death of her mother. (This is where our heroine comes in)
A villainous uncle and a bit of skullduggery along with a bit of mystery, make this book a great read
If you are a Christian you will love it. If not, well... I think you will find the story lovely. Pure true love and a wonderful experience for the listener
The only thing lacking is graphic sexual scenes. Ahhh What a blessing to behold.
"Twist and Turns Makes a Good Police Mystery"
A pretty good read. Not a hang on to your seat for a bumpy ride kind of listen... However, plenty of twist and turns you do not expect. A bit of gallows humor added in, and a very impatient NYPD Detective Sergeant Dennis McQueen has two cases he and his team have to solve.
If you are listening while driving home from work, you will probably go around the block a few times to get to the next chapter.
Nice way to curl up by the fire and listen to a good mystery??? You will not guess ???who done it" until the end.
"Another Depressing Slave Drama"
I realize the slavery epoch was blight on American History??? However???
Is there any hope that during the slave era, someone was nice and kind? Were all the slave owners contemptible, malicious and cruel? : Stupid vapid women and malevolent Overseers? Did all the wives drink or get hooked on laudanum because their husband despoiled the slave women and fathered many of the black women???s children?
Well just once, I would like to read something a little more pleasant and have a successful conclusion during early America. Still the narration was excellent.
"A Jewel of a Novella"
Let me ask you this... Are you tired of Listening to graphic sex. foul language, The crippling or mutilation, even murder of another person?
While these do have their place, I would urge you to sit back and enjoy
Parnassus on Wheels.
What a delight to hear. There is everything you could want in this little Gem.
Romance + Adventure + Mystery + Humor, and a wee bit of the blarney... You will love it.
