When Capt. Nate Leathers is taken prisoner by Iraqi insurgents, he thinks things can't get any worse than that. But when he escapes, the city of Basra is covered in green fog and besieged by nightmarish monsters.

Overall the story was engaging. I was annoyed by all the chapters that didn't seem necessary. I pictured Caprain Leathers more as a sergeant then a Captain and the story ended with the a similar rank disappointment. That is to say, there was no ending.  The imaginative demonic creatures animated by the ethereal green mist lacked the same substance as the story came to end of book one. I will likely shine the light on book two.

In the far reaches of the galaxy, a machine of war bursts into existence in a place and time it was never meant to be. On a mission of retribution for the destruction of his planet, its half-mad captain seeks the death of every intelligent being, and the annihilation of every civilized world. Kirk and Spock, two completely different and unyielding personalities must find a way to lead the only crew, aboard the only ship, that can stop him.

It WAS the movie. I am a Star Trek fan and enjoyed the movie. Th audio novel was not more or less then screen event. I just wish I had not wasted a credit on this rendition. I could have just watched or listened to the movie again. Also, would have only had to hear Spock when HE was talking.
