    Story

As soon as I finished this book I had an overwhelming feeling of anger and disappointment. I felt like I was forced to witness something I didn't want to imagine. So much comparison with the FSoG trilogy and it's nothing like it!!! What was erotic and sexy in FSoG was made dirty and degrading on this story. And I just don't get it because Maya Banks is an amazing writer!!

Very unlikeable characters. Gabe was a selfish jerk. A supreme A-hole and I did not believe his "change" at the very end of the story. Mia is supposed to be an experienced college graduate, a 24 year old rich New Yorker so it's just impossible to believe that she is a spineless girl willing to be used as a cheap sex object. This book felt like cheap smut written for men. It's all about the man's pleasure. And taking his pleasure by humiliating a woman. He would scream and curse at Mia and then use her for his pleasure because he could not "control" himself. And then comes Paris. It actually made me nervous and I had to pause the story and say please let this not be what I think it's going to happen. And then I press play and it was just as bad as I thought. Just disgusting! And to be so easily resolved??

I think that what pissed me off so much was that I was expecting something remotely similar to FSoG. I loved the trilogy and have listened to it several times. I also loved Bared to You and Reflected in you so I enjoy a story with lots of kinky "lovery". But in those stories the men, although damaged, adored their women and it was all about their pleasure and never in a gazillion years would sharing their partner would occur to them. Eww!!!

And after enduring this too crude story the end was beautiful but it didn't explain what would happen with them in terms of the degrading crap Gabe puts Mia through... I'm just mad! If you like sexy stories backed by romance and love you will most definitely NOT like this. Rush is more geared towards men and women looking for audio porn.

Narration: this terrible story is narrated by a terrible narrator. Adam Paul was very monotone, many times read too fast and you get the added bonus of hearing the pages turn. The cheap "love scenes" we're read like an instruction manual. An all around bad experience :(

I really enjoy historical romances and I was looking for a short story (novella). This was exactly was I was looking for, a short and sizzling hot story that mostly centers in the romance of our hero and heroine. It's fast paced due to how short it is but it's intense and complete. I also liked the fact that these were normal people. No dukes, count, king, nothing.., Just two people falling in love and struggling with poverty, temptation and the different life struggles. It also has a mild Christmas theme that I enjoyed.

A good story can only get even better with good narration. Rosalyn Landor is my favorite historical romance narrator and she did an excellent job with this story as always. Her male voices and accents are impeccable. She adds so much emotion to her characters that you can really live the story. Highly recommended for historical romance fans who are in the mood for a quickie... Listen.

With her hair perfectly coiffed, nails freshly manicured and a heavy trail of perfume wafting behind her, local news reporter Dallas Dubois is sure she's about to kick her career - and maybe her love life - into high gear. The director of the Tuscaloosa children's Christmas play has fallen ill, and Dallas is ordered by her station manager to take the reins. Everyone is shocked - especially Cal Hollingsworth, who still remembers her as the Ice Queen from high school.

This book actually has a very good and powerful message, that you need to forgive in order to heal your heart and be truly happy. That's the process that our heroine went through. It was not easy for her to let go of all the pain and heartache her family put her through but at the end she let go of the past and was able to find the love and acceptance she always needed. That said the story feels long at times and I was able to finish it by increasing the narration speed. It's and ok story but it should have been shorter.

The love story is nice and mild. The Christmas theme goes on throughout the whole story. The narration is adequate and the southern accent was done correctly.

I loved this story. It's short and fast paced but it's written in a way that makes the romance belieaveble. I did an Internet search for books to read after Virgin River and this was a suggestion. And yes I see the similarities with the heroine being a nurse practitioner needing a break after a breakup/loss but this one is much more fun and less drama. The narration is very good too but I gave it 4 stars because the narrator made several awkward pauses that editing should have fixed. But it's no big deal.

This audiobook was well worth my time and money so yes I highly recommend it.

Storm Eldon was first caught up in the war between England and Scotland as a young girl, when she and her family were held hostage by their sworn enemies, the MacLagans. Years later, Storm finds herself trapped in the clutches of her Scottish adversaries once again. Now she must fight to preserve her loyalties, guard her virtue, and resist the charms of Tavis MacLagan, her handsome Highland captor.

I finished this book because the narrator is very good. The story is lacking in so many ways. First, for me No means no. So our hero did not take that No kindly from the heroine and basically told her not to resist because it was gonna happen anyway. That for me is rape. I don't even understand how the heroine fell in love with the hero. He always treated her like a hostage and property. And him eyeing her when she was 10 years old? Nah.. After all that the hero put our Storm through there was not enough groveling to justify her forgiveness. So, with so many historical romance books out there I'd say skip this one.

I usually go for books that are about 10 hours long. So I considered whether it would be a good idea to try a 25, yes 25 hour long book by an author I've never read before. It was a gamble, a gamble I won. I LOVED this story. Even though the story is long many twists and unexpected turns made you want more. The love story between Nina and Max is very well developed, emotional and passionate. On top of that the ending is so amazing I felt like giving the author a standing ovation. Beautiful story and so worth a credit.

Narration: the narrator adds to the story. Her British accent is very good and she does excellent distinct male voices. I'd listen to more books narrated by Emma Taylor.

This story had all the elements of a fairytale: a princess, a plot to kill her, a knight that comes to her rescue and a Happily Ever After. Add lots of sexual innuendo and passionate lovemaking and you have a fairytale for adults. It was a really good book full of romance and adventure.
The narration was excellent as all works by Rosalyn Landor are. This is definitely worth a credit if you enjoy historical romances.

Lisa Kleypas is one of the best historical romance authors. A well written book with lots of intrigue and a well developed hate to love relationship. Most of the book I was wondering how it would end and I appreciated that it was actually not predictable at all. Add to that, the BEST historical romance narrator I've ever listened to Mrs. Rosalyn Landor, and you have hours of entertainment. Totally worth a credit.

I seem to be a minority here but I didn't like this book. The author wrote scene after scene of the most boring and bland sex scenes ever. Literally this couple spent a month trying to get pregnant and basically 28 of those days our heroine was looking at the ceiling and the hero gave her "his seed" in about thirty seconds. Those thirty seconds were followed by deep conversations about cows and country living...

The narration was very good and it's the only reason why I actually finished the book. The last hour or so of the story was very sweet and I liked the ending but I wish I could get those 12 hours of my life back...

She knows she's in deep shit. A tall, handsome werewolf rescues her then demands payment. Hot, sweaty, intimate payment. Well it seems that my very favorite narrator is now using the pseudonym GC VanCloudts. I believe her original name is Therese Plummer and she can narrate a newspaper and make it sound like the most fascinating thing you've heard. Yes, she's that good.

The story was just ok for me. It was very hot and heavy but I felt like the story was mostly about sex. The paranormal world wasn't developed and I kept wondering what our main couple had in common besides strong libidos. That said the story did spark my curiosity and I will be listening to other books in this series as long as they are narrated by this same amazing narrator.

I got this book thinking it was a Highlander story but it is set in modern day Scotland. The things I learned by listening to this book are:
    - Scottish men were amazing hundreds of years ago... and they still are!
    - I absolutely love the Scottish accent
    - Great narration makes the time go by quicker.
Yes I recommend this book! It's not only set in Scotland with that amazing accent and great narration but our hero is also a movie star... I'm in love!
