Rachel Gibson’s “eloquent prose” (Publishers Weekly) has earned the author a number of coveted awards, including the RITA, Golden Heart, and National Reader’s Choice. Nothing But Trouble features an injured, prickly Seattle Chinooks hockey player who is none too pleased to be bedridden.

Wow I loved this book so much! Yes, the story is a little predictable: moody athlete falls for sweet, totally not his type girl who knows nothing about the sport. There's a secret that will cause trouble between them but it gives you the fairytale ending I love. There's also a nice secondary love story between Jules (Faith Duffy's assistant) and Bo (Chelsie's twin sister). I did not want this book to end!

Narration: Susan Bennett did an excellent job! Each character has a distinct voice and she adds so much feeling and emotion to the story (especially the hot scenes!!) she deserves more than five stars for her performance as well.

Rachel Gibson is one of my favorite contemporary romance writer. Her stories are funny, interesting, butterflies-in-the-stomach romantic and teary eyes intense. She brings out so many emotions out of me... Can't wait to start listening to her next book Any Man of Mine (although sadly has a different narrator).

While attending his best friend’s wedding, Dean can’t stop staring at Katie’s sinful curves. He swore he’d never repeat the mistake of falling for her. Learning that Katie has a newborn, Dean knows there’s more going on than Katie admits.

This is a fluffy easy listen. It's ok but not a book I would listen to again. The first one was much better. I guess my issue is that the storyline is too fantastic. Katie is a Paris Hilton type character. She's a spoiled rich party girl who happens to get a baby in her doorstep (yeah right). The baby came with adoption papers and everything! The story of who the parents are, how the baby ended up with Katie and how she wants to quit party and socializing just to take care of the baby is unrealistic. The romance also didn't quite do it for me. This book is good if you get it on a good sale and want an easy listen while on vacation.

This is a light listen. It's perfect for a relaxing day when you're in the mood for a sweet love story with a good dose of humor. Animal lovers will also enjoy listening about the pets the heroine has because they each have quite peculiar personalities. I enjoyed it a lot and for the price it should definitely be a yes for you too. I liked the narrator as well.

Miss Jane Fairfield can't do anything right. When she's in company, she always says the wrong thing - and rather too much of it. No matter how costly they are, her gowns fall on the unfortunate side of fashion. Even her immense dowry can't save her from being an object of derision. And that's precisely what she wants. She'll do anything, even risk humiliation, if it means she can stay unmarried and keep her sister safe. Mr. Oliver Marshall has to do everything right. He's the bastard son of a duke, raised in humble circumstances...

I loved this book!!! The characters are complex, the conflicts are real and it's written in a way that you get to care for the different characters. This is a rich story that handles intense subjects such as political influence, human rights, mental illness and epilepsy. And the thread that binds all of those subjects are two great love stories. By the end you feel satisfied and happy because you see that love conquers all.
Narration: Rosalyn Landor is one of the most experienced and amazing narrators I've ever listened to. She adds intensity and passion to the story and has an uncanny ability to make very different voices to all characters (and this story had lost of characters). She nails every characterization (men, older men, young women, old women).
If you enjoy historical romances then you must add this title to your collection.

Faith Holland left her hometown after being jilted at the altar. Now a little older and wiser, she's ready to return to the Blue Heron Winery, her family's vineyard, to confront the ghosts of her past, and maybe enjoy a glass of red. After all, there's some great scenery there.... Like Levi Cooper, the local police chief - and best friend of her former fiancé. There's a lot about Levi that Faith never noticed, and it's not just those deep green eyes.

I really enjoyed this book. It was really funny, realistic and a very well developed romance. I felt like I really got to know all the different characters and saw them as realistic because they were all flawed. I can even see this book becoming a really fun rom-com movie. I definitely recommend this book.

Lord Lucas Stokehurst is captivated by the gentle grace and regal beauty of “Miss Karen Billings,” who appeared seemingly out of nowhere and now stands demurely before him. Enchanted, the gallant, haunted widower impetuously offers her a position as governess to his young daughter, taking the lady of mystery into his home. But “Miss Billings” has another name, Anastasia, and a dark past that pursues her still.

This wasn't my favorite Lisa Kleypas book. I guess the fact that the heroine is just 18 years old and the hero is 34 didn't do it for me. I know it happened a lot back then but I like my heroines over 21. The hero was very much an alpha male and I didn't see the build up of the romance as the author usually delivers. It was an ok historical romance for me but not one that I wanted to listen to in one day. Tante narration was ok too. Didn't really like the Russian accent she did though.

I can't recommend this book. As a mother, my children are my number one priority. You reject them and I'm out of there faster than you can say bye. Heather had a baby and never told Todd. When the baby is 3 years old she feels overwhelmed and decides to look for the baby daddy. That's when my issues started with this story. Your child is your responsibility. How can that character even consider dropping the baby with her father just so she can have an easier life and pursue acting. That's selfish. Then Heather arrives at Whispering Wind and Todd rejects the kid over and over again. Even after the paternity test he still said he didn't want custody only wanted to pay child support and Heather stayed there and insisted?!?! And even through that she had sex with him?!?! OMG! That character has no pride and doesn't really value her own daughter. I don't get it. If Todd didn't want to interact with his daughter then Heather needed to move on, get the child support and hire a nanny or sitter and continue her life trying to be the best mom. I know that the author's justification is that Todd had a past experience that made him be afraid to be near kids but why not simply say it or request to be accompanied by the mother when e interacted with his own daughter.

I've read and enjoyed other "secret baby" stories but in all of the others the heroes were always willing and happy to spend time with their kids. Their issues would only be with the mother. Although I really disliked this story I must say that the narration was very good. Maybe that's why I finished it.

The main problem with this book: bad narration. Michelle Ford wasn't able to make this story come alive. Her Scottish accent and her male voices were terrible. This is a historical romance with a fantasy twist since our heroine has some healing powers that come from a blue energy ball she's able to create at will. That combination didn't work for me. Their romance wasn't really passionate either so there really wasn't anything good enough to keep my interest.

This book was disappointing. I felt like I've read this same book a few times before. But in this case the dialogue was un realistic and the characters were not well developed. The whole one night stand and dream girl thing didn't do it for me. This was almost a young adult book. There is only a mention of the couple having sex towards the end of the book but zero description. It was boring and un romantic. On top of that the narration was TERRIBLE!! Abby Craden whispers too much, she made Max's sisters all sound like children. All secondary female characters sounded either drugged or too young. Only the last hour of this book was mildly interesting. Total disappointment!!

PS- if you like the blurb (the storyline) I highly recommend you listen to Simply Irresistible by Rachel Gibson. It's very similar to this book in terms of the storyline but it's a gazzillion times better.

The follow-up to the runaway bestsellers On Dublin Street and Down London Road. Despite her outgoing demeanor, Olivia is painfully insecure around the opposite sex - usually, she can't get up the nerve to approach guys she's interested in. But moving to Edinburgh has given her a new start, and, after she develops a crush on a sexy postgrad, she decides it's time to push past her fears and go after what she wants. Nate Sawyer is a gorgeous player who never commits, but to his close friends, he's as loyal as they come.

    Story

First: please note that this is a series and in this case I highly recommend you listen to the books in order so that you understand the dynamics of this group of friends. This story is almost as good as the previous ones. I guess my issue with this one was that it revolved too much around sex and the emotional part wasn't as intense as in the previous books. But yes it is a very intense passionate story that I would listen to over and over again. The author is truly talented and somehow always has a very emotional situation that makes me cry.

Narration: Lee Angel was not the best choice for this book. Each one has had a different narrator (I prefer the same narrator for the whole series). I guess she was chosen because a good American accent was needed but when it came time for her to do the Scottish accent, it was terrible! I didn't really like the way she did male voices either but not so much as to make me stop listening.
Considering how good the story was I recommend you overlook the ok narration and enjoy it. Hopefully Samantha Young will continue to add to this series and maybe bring back the original narrator.

    Story

Keeping in mind that this is a young adult romance I found it a good book. I did find some situations and reactions a bit immature but the couple is 19 and 21 year olds so I guess it was understandable. They both had some serious issues with their mothers and that was pretty emotional and sad. By the end I really liked how this couple overcame their circumstances and found a way to help each other and make their lives together much better.

The narrator was ok as well. She did read a bit slow for my taste so I found myself increasing the speed to 1.25 at times. She did add the intensity and sadness that some parts needed and that was enjoyable.
Considering the story and the narration I'd say I recommend this book if it's on sale or if you're young and still in college.
