Eloisa James, the acclaimed author of Potent Pleasures, returns to Regency England with an unforgettable new heroine - a genteel but naughty innocent who gets more than she bargains for when she finally says yes to love. To her legions of adoring suitors, it comes as quite a shock when Lady Sophie York rejects an offer of marriage from the dashing, rakish Patrick Foakes in favor of amiable but dull Braddon Chatwin. He may be an earl, but it is Patrick's stolen kisses that sear her lips.

there are multiple subplots that will keep you intrigued. there's so much action you may find yourself talking out loud to the characters!
2 things I didn't like was 1/2 way through when the main characters are in the lobby of a hotel and while everything else is happening (shooting) they are imagining being WITH each other. Also, the second part of the book when the the female lead keeps crying and blaming herself... every 5 minutes. Overall it's a really good book and worth it.

After growing up in cheap motels, moving from town to town with her sister and mother, Cheyenne Christensen is grateful to be on her own. She’s grateful, too, for the friends she found once her family settled in California. But she’s troubled by the mystery of her earliest memories, most of which feature a smiling blonde woman. A woman who isn’t her mother. Although Cheyenne has repeatedly asked for explanations, the people who could help aren’t talking.

    Story

I just began this series and think I will love it.
But, I'm probably the only one that wants Joe and Cheyenne together. I thought that was where this was headed but then they introduced Dylan. I'm sorry, but for a woman in her 30's that waited for the right person (took her over 20yrs to have a meal with Joe who she claimed to love all her life) she hops immediately in bed with Dylan? not believable. Also, at the end she said she loves Dylan, accepts his proposal of marriage yet she has no clue who she is as a person. She just found her real family for goodness sakes. She's going from living with a kidnapper to marrying Dylan. Lastly, you can NOT begin a relationship based on a lie!!! I don't care who your covering for. This is not a little white lie but a major omission on her part. Especially since she grew up not knowing her parents and now she's letting her niece/nephew go through the same thing? Chey is encouraging bad behavior from an immature sister that needs to take responsibility for her actions. I know this will all come out but I just hope the talented Brenda Novak doesn't make this neat and tidy. I also hope she gives two characters who belong together forever (Joe&Chey) a chance.

A peaceful Minnesota town, where crime is something that just doesn't happen, is about to face its worst nightmare. A young boy disappears. There are no witnesses, no clues - only a note, cleverly taunting, casually cruel. Has a cold-blooded kidnapper struck? Or is this a reawakening of a long-quiet serial killer?

Where does Night Sins rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    top 15

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

yes, i was so scared of the outcome

Have you listened to any of Joyce Bean’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

YES!!! one of my favorite readers of Audible books. With her delivery you feel like you were there.

    Any additional comments?

i enjoyed the book but I couldn't understand how Mitch could be the Chief yet did not have an open mind when it came to the crime. He told Megan he had been through that type of crime three times yet he refused to look at an other angles. I felt he was more concerened about his relationship and less about the crime. I gave this a high star rating because the reader and overall story line was worth it.

It was whispered all through London society that he was a murderer, that he'd spent his youth in an asylum and was not to be trusted - especially with a lady. Any woman caught in his presence was immediately ruined. Yet Beth found herself inexorably drawn to the Scottish lord whose hint of a brogue wrapped around her like silk and whose touch could draw her into a world of ecstasy.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

    yes

If you’ve listened to books by Jennifer Ashley before, how does this one compare?

    she did an admirable job

Would you listen to another book narrated by Angela Dawe?

    yes

    Any additional comments?

at first I had to remind myself that Ians character did not show real emotion in his voice but I got the hang of it. The reader did a really good job doing the transition between characters with emotion to Ian.
