Erich von Däniken's Chariots of the Gods is a work of monumental importance---the first book to introduce the shocking theory that ancient Earth was visited by aliens. This world-famous best seller has withstood the test of time, inspiring countless books and films, including the author's own popular sequel, The Eye of the Sphinx.

Glad I listened to it. There are some very interesting, thought provoking ideas brought into focus. I've been to many of the sites mentioned and it is almost unbelievable to think that the native peoples did these remarkable feats without any assistance from a more advanced culture.

If you are a lover of LOTR and The Hobit, you will love just sitting back and listening to the stories being read to you. The narrator is fantastic and even sings Bilbo's songs. I love these unabridged audio books!

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Not sure if it was the writing or the narrator that made this such an unremarkable read. Very boring and couldn't stand the narration. Very expensive waste of time. Can't believe this was a Stephen King novel....

Like previous reviewer said.....don't waste your credits. Very unsympathic characters with the most enane dialog throughout the book. Can't even finish it.

"Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" So goes the signature introduction of New York Herald star journalist Henry Morton Stanley to renowned explorer Dr. David Livingstone, who had been missing for six years in the wilds of Africa. Into Africa ushers us into the meeting of these remarkable men. In 1866, when Livingstone journeyed into the heart of the African continent in search of the Nile's source, the land was rough, unknown to Europeans, and inhabited by man-eating tribes.

The characters are very well described and the description of their journies into Africa make you feel like you were almost there with them (but thankfully weren't!).
