It is a story I had never heard before. It is an interesting to see how 2 cultures mixed for weeks that were totally different and so much the same.

This books gives the contex of many things going on before and after the day in Dallas. Moving to Dallas 5 years after the assination talk radio made a living on the each new therory or plot. Most made the authors money and not much more.

It was good to see it all put back in to prespective. Some of that historyin Nov is still being felt today. So many of the details I had forgotten or had not put into that contex.

This is a story that I started with low expectations and found the way it was written made the very scary thought of starvation one of survival lead by the women. Those second class citizens saved their families with incrediable resourcefulness.

Even if you do not like history about wars this is a fun listen. Things like Booth was next to Lincoln at his swearing in for the second term and had to be restrained from attacking Lincoln.

Great book for a family listening if they know a little of American History.

The goal of the book is admirable. In the early part of the book it is well documented with citations. As it moves to more modern examples the authors just get the facts wrong I think to prove a point.

The best example is the 9/11 hitchackers none fit his profile. Another example would be the the idea after 9/11 to ignore or not repsond to the attack. He fails to "recall" the number of attacks we did not respond to before 9/11 so the time between decrease but the deaths increased with each.

The value is the understanding of male and female groups he based on chimp studies. That was useful and well done.

The way the book was laid out to explin the world as the Chinese see it from a historical and a modern view point goes a long way to understand the Korean war and other flash points. It also explain how they will tend to react in the future.

If you are going to do business in China read this book first.
