A modern short story collection featuring the great detective.

"Stephen King does a solid job of giving Dr. Watson a chance to show his own detective skills in "The Good Doctor" - Critics Comment

I couldn't find this story in the TOC or on this "unabridged" recording. Otherwise, I enjoyed the narrator and some of the stories.

Quirky characters, a hotel with a phantom floor, sexy girls, rock music, especially Talking Heads - this gloriously imaginative romp around contemporary Japan defies description. A cult novelist with a huge international following, but also with a serious literary reputation, Haruki Murakami gains more fans with each book. Dance, Dance, Dance is one of his finest and most loved.

Dr. says: "Another good listen from Murakami"
    "Gotta dig Degas"
    Overall

I've read all of Murakami's books and the surreality is an acquired taste. I've applauded each one. That said, I'd likely rave for a rotten tomato if it was read by Rupert Degas. The man is a gift to listening ears. Exceptional.

In In the Moon of Red Ponies, Billy Bob Holland discovers that jail cells have revolving doors and the bad guys are back and aching for revenge.

    "Good Will Hunting. . ."
    Overall

I have not yet been disappointed by the writing of James Lee Burke and this novel is no exception. I agree that the narrator is "above average", as another reviewer has described, however, contrary to the narration listing, it is not Will Patton. If you are a Will Patton fan you might be disappointed.
