When Sophia told Max that the girls shouldn't be left alone and they should go home to be with their families. That a woman who grew up in silence still retained a conscious even though she trolled the minds of serial killers; very impressive.
Some might call me an antagonist but, I'm a fan of Nikita. Even though she is a counselor and is suppose to uphold silence she let a human be her chief of security and a "flawed"
J-psy work for her. I think people underestimate Nikita and she will soon surprise us with her devotion to not only her daughter but also all the "flawed" psy.
The series just gets better and better with each book and each read! I especially loved that in this book you get Adrian's point of view. It really brought the book up another level. I don't want to talk about the book or what goes on in it, I don't like doing that for good must read books like this one, but I will say even though I don't have a younger sibling I do have to say that Zoe is too clingy for a 15 year old girl. It is as if she hasn't don't anything on her own EVER! Maybe that is normal I don;t know but it as annoying, I wanted to reach into the book and smack some sense into her.
The only downside to the book was the ending, you could tell that the book as coming to an end and it just felt rushed. The ending however was done brilliantly; with the betrayal, the love the devotion and the faith. It definitely leaves you wanting more. And on the edge of your seat for the next installment.
This is one of those books you can't help but enjoy! It has it all, vampires, werewolves, angels oh and you can't forget the love the mind reading and the action. At first I wasn't sure about this book, I thought I would try it out and if I didn't like it wouldn't be too big of a deal. By the time I was half way through the first chapter I was hooked.
Risa has to deal with so much and make so many hard decision that it is impressive especially since she is under so much pressure to let the problem she is investigating go. This is one of those series that you can't help but buy all the books at once and read them through.
I strongly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance, action, mind-reading angels, and good sarcasm. You won't be disappointed.
This is the first book in the "New Species" series and I have to say it is a wonderful start to the series. I was looking for a new series to start and from the moment I heard the sample I was hooked.
When you start this book you will be more than a little freaked out at the beginning scene, I know I was, because of what it contains (no I won't give it away but, it is intense and be prepared), But that really dose set the tone for the rest of the book.
Ellie is a great female lead in this book and her male counterpart Fury won't disappoint. This series can be read as stand alone titles, but I think that it is best to read them as a series because you ca see the characters in each book grow and evolve.
This is a great new series and I'm really glad I stumbled upon it!
This was probably one of the most difficult books i have ever read. It was just hard. In the audiobook there is this scratching sound that occurs every once in a while that is very annoying. I could live with that. It was mostly the narrator that made it so bad for me.
She tried to hard to be something she wasn't and It made the book so hard to get through. I couldn't even finish it. That has only happened twice before where I couldn't finish a book. And in each case it comes down to a good narrator.
If I had to give my opinion I would say don't waste your time, money/credit on this book. I can't even tell you what it is about because I don't even know. I got pretty far in the book before I had to quit and start another one. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone and would warn them off from reading this.
I'm not even going to tell you to read the series because by this point i hope you have gotten the message that I have not so subtly put out there and read the series!! This is the best of the series. And it was my favorite. Adrian was a major key player.
I lied, I do have something bad to say about the series..... The fourth book doesn't come out until November, and I tried I really did try not to read this one until closer to the release date (November 19, 2013), but I just couldn't it was too tempting not knowing.
I'm glad I did read the book it was so good and I really did enjoy the book the only problem now is waiting til November for the fourth book to come out. That is the only grievance I have with the book, other than that it was amazing and I plan on rereading the series again and again. For Adrian of course.
Once again I can't say any thing bad about his book or the series. It is actually kind of annoying. I would like to give some sort of critique but can't because the book was so good. Others may disagree with me but would be wrong.
Sydney has to deal with so many things in book that I almost feel bad for her but, then I realize that she gets to spend time with a guy like Adrian and I don't feel so bad for her.Not that having to deal with potential crazy vampire hunters isn't worthy of some sympathy it diminishes when I read just how much time she spends with Adrian.
I normally don't give away spoilers in really good books like this one but I will say this the best part of the book was when Sydney was all confused about kissing and she made some comment that went something like this, "The books I've read on dating have mostly advised on when to have sex which is useless because I'm still trying to figure out when to hold hands." I just found that to be very typical Sydney needing to read and do research to figure out a relationship.
You would know why this is amusing if you read the book. So go read the book!!!
When I first got this book I was hesitant to start a new series. I wasn't a huge fan of the"Vampire Academy" and because some of the same characters are in this series as are in the VA series I didn't want to have to listen to all their drama. MAN WAS I WRONG! Yes the characters are the same for the most part, but the story line is completely different. And after the first few chapters I was hooked.
I decided that I had to continue reading and read the entire book straight through, barely sparing time to sleep it was just that good. I would suggest to anyone to get this book and start the series it is a wise investment. Even if you have read any of the VA books you will still be able to follow along and be able to enjoy the story.
This is one o those series that you can't help but go back and reread again and a again. I know that i plan on rereading this book again. I'm glad that i was wrong about this book and I really enjoyed getting to know the characters better away from the VA world.
I will say this on a partying note, if you really get into a book and don't want to interrupted I suggest reading this on the weekend and pretending that you are sick to make everyone else go away and let you listen in peace. Better yet, you better do that for the entire series, because once you stat this book you will be hooked on the series I promise!!!!
You'll also get the title of this review if you read the book, so read it!!!!
This is a waste of time! This book although important I guess for the series was just a waste of time and money. I am a huge fan of Christine Feehan she is the author who got me into paranormal books. So I figured that this series would be a good one. Man was i wrong.
It isn't that long but it took me forever to read. I can't explain. How much of a bore this book was.
A woman goes to the jungle of South America to inherit her dead parents estate. She meets a man and with in one day of meeting him falls in love with him and begins sleeping with him and decides to spend the rest of her life with him. Oh and a plot twist another man tries to steal her and the two men duke it out and fight to the death to have her. That is what the story is about in a two sentences.
From the excepts that I have apart from this one the rest of the series seem to have more meat to them, and should be more entertaining than this one.
I wold have to say hat this is not essential to the series and you can go on to the second book and be fine with out reading the first one. The narrator did a okay job but not the best. All in all this is not one of the best from Christine Feehan.
This is the start to a new series by Patricia Briggs. In this you see how Charles meets his mate Anna. Anna is an Omega she has no idea what that is or why that makes her special. Nor does Charles.
You see how Charles struggles with trying to do the right thing by letting Anna be happy and his own violent nature in wanting her. Even though through tout the book they talk about Anna being an omega you never really find out what that means or why it is so important.
I really like the booked, but I can't say that I'm going to continued with the series.I'm usually a big fan of Patricia Briggs but in this book "Cry Wolf" it just left me want me want more and not getting any. I did think that the story line was good and that it is a good premiss for a series but just not for me. Maybe in the future I'll change my mind and finish of the series.
I will say this, when it comes to plot twists no one knows how to twist like Patricia. Once you think you have everything figured out she goes and changes it on you.
This is the best of the series. I had originally had planned to wait and use my credits to get this book (the book came out the 4th and my credits on the 6th), that plan lasted until the morning of the book release and I was like "I can't wait." It was the best decision of my life. I couldn't stop listening!! It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
although in this book Nalini does go from one character's point of view to another's with no time to adjust that you are seeing the world through another's eyes.Other than that small draw back this book was divine! And I have every intention on re-reading this book time and time again. In fact I'm on my second go-a-round and it gets better with every listen.
I'm not going to tell any of the potential listeners what the book is about (that frustrated me that I didn't know what the book was about, but it made the book that much more enjoyable for me), so all I can say is get the book and you will know why I can't say ANYTHING about the book in this review. It is just that good.
This is one book you won't be disappointed in reading!
