Not my #1 choice mostly due to the horrible accents, but better than some of the others.
This book is a must have! Great story and narration. I would recommend to anyone interested for sure.
Contrary to other reviews, I did not think Helen Morrison's voice was boring, but eerily calm. The stories are intense and as expected, creepy. The only reason I am not giving a full 5 stars is that towards the end of the novel she talks about how her life/family has dealt with her career, that was the only boring part.
The story starts off a bit slow, but worth listening to. The ending seemed almost unbelievable. Bless Gerda for sharing her story!
This story seemed too unbelievable to be true. Very interesting that this story is a piece of history yet no one has every known it. Great Purchase
The content is very insightful and I could have learned a lot, but the HORRIBLE narration made listening to this for more than 5 minutes absolutely painful. If you need something to put you to sleep then you've found it!
Audible should take this off their website! Within 2 minutes I turned it off, the narration is absolutely horrible and kills every one of Sherlock's adventures one word at a time! Don't waist your dollar!
I bought this book expecting to hear all about the "Most Violent Predators" Agent Depue has met, but the first 4 hours is about his childhood and the last 2 are about Jesus.... Interesting, but the title does not match the content.
If you liked the movie, then you'll enjoy this narration. Kathy Bates did a WONDERFUL job and brought life to the characters. The book is equally as "creepy" and thrilling as the movie.
The novel was interesting in the beginning and very well narrated, but half-way in, you already know the ending. There are better crime novels.
