"Great first book rest of trilogy terrible."
I highly recommend the first book as an audio book. If you absolutely must read the other two to find out what happens, read the actual words of a paperbook of an ebook so that you can get it over with faster and skim a lot.
"Puzzling, Humerous and odd. Kind of delicious."
I loved this quirky odd book with it's timeline complexities and strange character encounters. At times it is slow, but still really funny.
"Great beginning then really annoying."
I don't think I have ever wanted to slap a protagonist or an author until this book. It had a lot of promise. I love post-apocalyptic tales and zombies. It begins with some great mysteries and then just gets really annoying. Check out the Passage by Justin Cronin instead.
"Delightful and funny. Well done all around."
This was a well done production of a well crafted engrossing and humorous story. The second book , Detective something or other story was ho-hum. I will give JLH another chance if he writes another book about Johannes, I love him.
"Lackluster, essentially a waste of time!"
Lackluster, essentially a waste of time! I think that the people who gave this book good reviews haven't read or listened to many books. Should have been a short story, or a PG-13 film. The kind of film where the screenwriter intensifies the love story and casts really intense actors to liven up the drab narrative. Ugh waste of time.
