    I have to agree with the previous poster that didn't get the humor. It's too bad, too, because I couldn't find anything to get me to enjoy this story. The characters are shallow, their actions rediculous, and it seemed to me that the author might not actually know any smart people, so he didn't have an experience to base real characters on. I got the real impression that the writer sits in an apartment in Miami and watches people on the street, but never really goes outdoors.

    I'm seeing some bad reviews and I just have to wonder what those people think is good literature. This was one of the most entertaining and attention capturing books I have ever listened too.

    And, guess what....my wife agrees. Go figure.

    But hey, I enjoy reading about messed up folks who only get their head above water long enough to choke down some sea weed. If you like this book go read Choke by Chuck Palahniuk....There's some interestingly neurotic characters in his books as well. The entertainment value of some people's daily struggle is highly under-rated.
