A vicious 15-year-old droog is the central character of this 1963 classic, a frightening fable about good and evil, and the meaning of human freedom. In Anthony Burgess' nightmare vision of the future, where the criminals take over after dark, the story is told by the central character, Alex, who talks in a brutal invented slang that brilliantly renders his and his friends' social pathology.

Steve says: "Great book, great narration, but not for everyone"

I loved this book and the movie as well but I found the ending odd. To me if felt like (And this could easily be considered a spoiler so stop reading if you don't want to know a very small portion of the story) the writer was trying to end it with some kind of notion that raping/killing/and stealing was just part of being a teenage. That aside it was a great book.

The best American novel to emerge from World War I, A Farewell to Arms is the unforgettable story of an American ambulance driver on the Italian front and his passion for a beautiful English nurse.

This is a love story. It does have good scenes of war from time to time but as a whole this is a love story. Personally I was hoping for more of the war side of things but I did enjoy the presentation of the characters and the overall plot of the book. It was well writen and well read. I would recomened it.

After 30 years and with three million copies in print, Michael Shaara's Pulitzer Prize-winning Civil War classic, The Killer Angels, remains as vivid and powerful as the day it was originally published.

Gene says: "Almost a Perfect Audiobook"
    "Killer Angles"
    Overall

The book is decent. Fells slow to begin with epically if you know the history of the civil war. The book is very detailed and enjoyable. The narrator takes a bit to get used to though.
