I would recommend it for Bradbury fans. Due to nostalgia.
For its day this was a captivating story and I would not recommend any changes.
All of the scenes on the carousel were quite appealing to me.
That sounds interesting and do-able to me. I can only imagine new arising young actors as the two boys and some older popular actor like Bill Paxton as the dad. The Carnival owners could be someone like Tom Waites or Gary Oldman.
I recalled my own childhood in around this time the boys were in and can picture that kind of experience enriching my childhood.
I felt the performers did a fine job. If anything the director could have tweeted a few scenes a bit switching too quickly between male and female voices and Russian accents not quite sounding right in the switch.
Neon Rain ranks in the top 70% of all the audio books I've listened to (well over 200).
I would compare This James Lee Burke Novel to ones by Lee Child or John Sanford, such as the Affair by Child or Bad Blood by Sanford since the authors do such a good job of making the story come to life by their vivid descriptions of what the characters are experiencing.
The scene where Detective Robicheaux is banging bad guys around with a bag of heavy washers etc. was my favorite.
This was a book that I would have listened to in one sitting if I had the time. As it was it took me two days of listening and working outside with my spring planting.
I could almost taste the PoBoy sandwiches that the character s were eating and feel the cool breeze blowing across Dave's house boat on Lake Pontchartrain.
Quite delightful and entertaining. I'd give it a 7 out of 10 both for delivery and interesting story.
I loved the setting and the character development. The conflict with the family needs some work.
Very clear and easy to understand and easy to listen to voice
Pretty much so.
I liked the action following the pick-up truck crash.
Read this first in 1962. Great to hear it in style!
007 climbing up the air duct to escape.
Hiding in the swamp breathing thru hollow reeds with Honeychild.
James begins his odyssey.
More exciting than the read or viewing the movie.
at the lower end but it was inexpensive and worth the few dollars for the bridge in plot.
Waldo flaking away.
Sookie's one word answers at the end.
Kinda liked Sookie and Bubba's scene in the yard at the beginning. Just imagine.
