"It's kinda complicated"
This book is the start of the answer to a Character's comment at the end of I Dare.
The Narrator caught the sweep of Theo and her complex interactions and the start of her flowering. I'm so delighted to finally have acess to one of my favorite books in the Liaden Universe in audio. I watched this story take shape in the weekly chapter postings.
This book can stand alone but the rest of the series is enhanced by knowledge of the Agent of Change books.
Necessity requires that I obtain all the books in this series.
Only one wish left and that is that the Chap books be produced in audio.
"The new Hero of Space"
Be ready to laugh till the tears come. Nap's nobility shines thru even though he trys to hide it. Great story with a lot of action and a cargo of laughs.
Andy Caploe really captures the flavor of the book.
Only down side - no sequals as of yet.
"Story enhanced"
I had recently found this series in print. I'm so happy it is in Audible too! I loved how they delt with the "internet chats" so you knew how the characters were talking. And the Narrator was really spot on with Aervyn. This is a wonderful book. I can't wait for the rest.
"Wow, so good bought in print too!"
I saw this book on sale and the cover and title caught my attention. The blurb looked interesting so I took a chance and I'm glad I did. A well written book, nice pacing and prose. The start was so good that I had to purchase the print edition too! A great first novel and I've got the release date for the 2nd copy on my calendar. I hope there is an audio version of that one too! A satisfying ending yet you are ready for more.
"A fresh way of looking at an ignored subject"
First Bart Ehrman assumes his readers/listeners have a brain and questions. This is not a dumbed down, you will never be able to understand this if I don't dumb it down text. In many ways it is like you the reader were having a conversation in person with the author. It is not filled with esoteric and jargonistic techno-babble. When a specialized term must be used it is defined.
There is also a nice blend of how the lost gospel came to light and what it went thru as well as what the content tells us about the time it was written.
If you are looking for the full text of the lost gospel you won't find it here.
To repeat, if you have a brain and questions about this topic this is the book for you. I've read and listened to many of his books and they are well worth the time and money.
"Charming read for all ages"
This audio book does full justice to the wonderfully rich story. I had first read this book when it first came out in print. The audio version just makes it better. Don't let an age rating on this book fool you into passing up a good listen (or read.) Each character was brought to life. I've already got the rest of the series on my wish list and will be getting them in the future.
