Yes, I might. Pamela does such a great job of narrating it, her warmth and personality shine through. By listening to her I could see why all the band members loved her, something that might not have come across if it were narrated by someone else.
She put so much energy into her narration and I really liked the extra bits she threw in as she was going. I also liked the catch up bits at the end.
No, I liked to listen to a chapter then sit with what I'd heard.
Not long enough. I hope to listen to more of her exploits.
I liked that it was well paced and interesting. I didn't like that all through the author stressed that our heroine was freely consenting to be his partner but in reality that wasn't true. He said if she walked away she would owe him $120,000 which she didn't have. It kind of smacked of slavery as he'd bought her for that amount. It creeped me out.
I would remove this monetary motivation or worked out a way for her to pay it back or him write it off. He came across as weird and a bit sick and sleazy.
Summer did a great job of narrating. I thought the few minutes that Tyler narrated could easily have been cut. If I were Summer I would be annoyed that he got equal billing when she did so much of the work.
Not one I'd recommend. Too many overtones of violence against women.
I liked the plot lines and that it had a strong female lead. I thought it was too long and that Danielle seemed to forget she was a story teller and go into preaching mode too often.
I liked that she interwove the lives of Olivia's children throughout the story. I thought she worshiped Olivia a little too much.
She had great diction and was easy to understand.
I was disappointed with this book and it's put me off buying more from this author even though I've heard so much about her.
Girl with the dragon tattoo as the heroine of the story has similar traits.
She has a wonderful range of character voices and her accent isn't overpowering.
I can take care of myself.
Really loved this book and wish it were part of a series. A great introduction to Nora's work and I have just downloaded two more of her books. Looking forward to many more late, late nights.
I was left wondering what happened and did not believe the ending. Maybe it was because this was the abridged version.
No but Sian was spectacular! I would happily buy a book just to hear her again.
I'm not sure, it was not the characters that were disappointing.
I loved the time travelers' wife. It is one of my all time favourite books and I have listened to it about 30 times. I was so looking forward to another of Audrey's books and this one, although quirky (but that is Audrey's style), was going well until that ending.
I will now wait till Audrey's next book to see if I remain a fan of hers. Thanks for the opportunity to rate books.
This is a great story made even better because it is a true story. Who among us hasn't fantasized at some time about living off the land in the wilderness?
I got this book because a woman at work came in bleary eyed last Monday morning. She said she'd been loaned this book on Friday and had been up all night reading it because she couldn't put it down.
