Available for the first time as an audiobook in this original Outlander novella, Diana Gabaldon reveals what really happened to Roger MacKenzie Wakefield’s parents. Orphaned during World War II, Roger believed that his mother died during the London Blitz, and that his father, an RAF pilot, was killed in combat. But in An Echo in the Bone, Roger discovers that this may not be the whole story. Now, in "A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows," readers finally learn the truth.

It's Christmas in Half-Moon Hollow and newly turned vampire Iris Scanlon-Calix wants to make Gigi's first visit home from college as normal and special as possible. It's taken months for Iris to work up the nerve to spend time around her baby sister after her vampire transition, so she enlists help from Jane Jameson and Company to keep her blood-thirst under control and assure Gigi's safety. Gigi, on the other hand, has problems of her own, including the demise of her relationship with high school sweetheart, Ben, and a looming job interview with Ophelia Lambert, the scariest potential employer in the Hollow.

I understood this was a mini novela, but I feel totally ripped off. This is what many editors offer as a free pre-quel to the next book, or maybe the first 2-3 chapter of a novel. I went back twice thinking I must have forgotten to download part 2. Totally disappointing as I was beginning to enjoy the story.

Jane's not happy. She's been packed off to England to fight in a war when she'd much rather be snogging Anyan. Unfortunately, Jane's enemies have been busy stirring up some major trouble - the kind that attracts a lot of attention. In other words, they're not making it easy for Jane to get any alone time with the barghest, or to indulge in her penchant for stinky cheese. Praying she can pull off a Joan of Arc without the whole martyrdom thing, Jane must lead Alfar and halflings alike in a desperate battle.

I am a fan of the Jane True series however this last book left me very frustrated. I don't know how much more I can take of Jane being a absolute idiot! Could a champion get any more lame? Hopefully she will redeem herself in book 6.

I really enjoyed this book. The story line is very different from anything else I have read. The narrator does a great job. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Lauren is downtown Chicago's youngest elite realtor. She's also a witch. She must be - the fetching spell for Witches' Chat isn't supposed to make mistakes. So says the woman who coded the spell, at least. The tall, dark, and handsome guy sent to assess her is a witch too (and no, that doesn't end the way you might think). What he finds in Lauren will change lives, mess with a perfectly good career, and require lots of ice cream therapy.

I did my best to stay with the book but after perserving for 5 hours, I have decided to abandon it. I cannot take all the gushing, touchy, feely dialogue. Do people really talk like this in any reality? This is too sickly sweet for me.

Might be an ok book, if Ms Geary could get on with the story and stop talking about how everyone is feeling.

I enjoyed the writing but cannot imagine why anyone would write a story so depressing. the narration was good if the objective was to make a black story blacker. I found this hard to listen to but was caught up with the characters and so stayed with it to the end.

Turned into a vampire against her will, 28-year-old Merit found her way into the dark circle of Chicago's vampire underground, where she learned there was more to supernaturals than met the eye - and more supernaturals than the public ever imagined. And not all the secrets she learned were for sharing - among humans or inhumans. Now Merit is on the hunt, charging across the stark American Midwest, tailing a rogue supernatural intent on stealing an ancient artifact that could unleash catastrophic evil on the world. But Merit is also the prey.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you enjoyed the previous books in the Chicagolan Vampire series you will not be dissappointed in this latest addittion. I don't understand all the negetive hype about the change in narrators. In my opinion Sophie Eastlake does a great job with this book. The change is subtle and Sophie 's performance provides for a calmer, more mature sounding Merit One critism I have of the series is that Merit frequently sounds like a silly, twenty something year old. Isn't Merrit 28 years old, an English lit graduate, and the Sentinel of Cadigan House. Let's make her voice fit her character. Good job Sophie for doing this while keeping with the original narrative style developed by Cynthia Holloway.

    Any additional comments?

The on again, off again nature of Ethan and Merits relationship is getting a bit frustrating. They are mostly on a downward spin and when they do get together it is anticlimatic. After all the trials and tribulations they go through, it should be earth shattering when they finaly get together. Chloe Neill would make a very good series, fantastic if Ethan's and Merit's characters were a bit more passionate. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to turn this series into another Harlequin romance, but a few declarations of love, and a bit more in the way of passionate love scenes seems called for. Maybe in the next release?
