When passionate professor Conner Devlin meets oversexed student Emma Fiore, the sparks ignite: he’ll train her to be his classroom sex slave, carrying out his every desire, while she gets to experience the forbidden pleasure of submissive love before her marriage to a dull and unfeeling man. But Emma’s sizzling and insatiable desires soon overwhelm Conner and he finds himself hopelessly in love with his young submissive. Emma accepts him as her sexual Master, but will she have him as her real-life lover? You’ll never look at the dynamics of D/s and a man’s sexuality the same way again.

    Story

This story constantly had me involved and titillated. Perhaps because I was a teacher with many frustrating days in the company of attractive young women... The reading was particularly effective, with the woman's voice being very provocative and sexy. The man's voice was unusual with its Bostonian accent, but it worked very well. I highly recommend this one!

Step Fletcher, his pregnant wife DeAnne, and their three children move to Steuben, North Carolina, with high hopes. But Step's new job with a software company turns out to be a snake pit, and 8-year-old Stevie's school is worse. As Stevie retreats into himself, focusing more and more on a mysterious computer game and a growing troop of imaginary friends, the Fletchers' concern turns to terror.

I knew Card was a Mormon, but had no idea how he feels about religion. This very disturbing novel gets right inside his life with his family. He explains this in a postscript. I found myself getting very involved - speaking out loud to his wife in annoyance! His workplace trials are very real and disturbing. The reality of the story makes the plot even more powerful. Must not reveal anything of the extraordinary plot!

Every schoolchild learns about the mutually beneficial dance of honeybees and flowers: The bee collects nectar and pollen to make honey and, in the process, spreads the flowers' genes far and wide. In The Botany of Desire, Michael Pollan ingeniously demonstrates how people and domesticated plants have formed a similarly reciprocal relationship.

    Story

I was fascinated by the information and the thinking behind this book. Michael Pollan (should change his name to Pollen) is a deep thinker, and expresses his philosophy very well. I see the world in a new way because of this book (similar to the effect of 'Perfume' by Patrick Susskind).
