I hesitated buying a book about "vampires" but the reviews were just too good to pass up and I'm so very happy I purchased this series. I started with Twilight, then New Moon, then Eclipse and finally Breaking Dawn. I loved them all. I liked New Moon the least and liked Twilight and Breaking Dawn the most. I turned my wife on tho this series also and she too was in doubt. She read the first two books in about 14 days and is now reading Eclipse. I had to get use to the reader's voice but now I really like it.
Anyway, without a doubt this book / series is the best I've read and is even better than Pillars of the Earth. I'm a big John Grisham fan and have listened to/read all of his books. Stephenie, I loved this series better than ANY of those also.
Great job and I'd really like to see the characters live again.

This book was written for women. It is all about some virgin college girl deciding some rich guy is really hot and decides she likes him. The book reads as though it is written by a high-school girl with a crush. Really, it is that bad.

After listening for 4 hours (at least), there was absolutely no plot and very limited characters. The plot was "omg, this guy is hot. Not sure I'm going to like him or not. Oh, I do, I'm going to have sex with him." I can't believe this book has any good ratings. Save your money.

The narrator did the best she could with the material given.

No plot. Not even a good story line. Characters are as predictable and as the boring story line. Rich guy has helicopter and flies college girl to residence where they talk about sex for 45 minutes. There is absolutely no intrigue to this book unless you want to listen to a bunch of sex talk.

Save your money.

When a book makes me stay up listening until 2am, it's a good book. The description of of the storyline really does not do the book justice. When you think you have a grasp on the limits of the situation they find themselves in, you will be surprised with yet another twist.

Also don't think that the story is about crew on a comet. The crew is only on the comet at the very start of the book. This book is about first-contact, aliens, survival, the human species, the future, technology, friendship, trust, betrayal, living forever, good aliens, bad aliens, etc, etc, and Reynolds does a great job filling your mind with imagination. Wow, what-if!!

Highly recommend this book!

I've listened to John Lee in the Pillars of the Earth, World without End, and a couple more. This was my favorite performance for John Lee. Great job.

This book made me think and imagine and hope.

Can't wait for a sequel.

Wow, this guy can tell a story. The bad part about a book this good is that my wife gets mad with me because I have a hard time putting it down. The story is definitely NOT predictable. If you think it's going to be a story like all the rest, you'll be surprised. The ending is like we're just getting started. Guess I'll have to move to book two -- yahoo!!! Dude, you can write.

I've read all the John Grisham books and was looking for another good legal thriller. I found it. Great book. Well written and well read. Narrator Grover Gardner really impressed me also -- he nailed it. The book was serious but David kept making wise crack remarks throughout the writing that was perfect. My wife kept asking me why I was laughing. Highly recommend this book.

When I downloaded this book I was very hesitant because I don't really enjoy Europe that much nor enjoy epic stories really. However, it came highly recommended. This book completely surprised me. This is probably the best book I've ever read. It has been a couple months since I've finished it and I still think of the characters in this book. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone. If you are hesitating, don't, just buy it, you won't regret it.

This is, without a doubt, the worst book I've ever purchased/downloaded. An example is the author will take 30 minutes to explain every detail of the submarine, or name every person during WWII that operated a sub and performed a certain action -- fearing that if he doesn't list that name that someone will contact him reminding him he forgot to mention someone.
This was a total waste of money unless you're engrossed in History Facts and every detail of a sub. Very little story-line here.

The only problem with this book is that it is so good it kept me up too late at night -- I just couldn't put it down.
Awesome -- highly recommend.
