definitely. The movie adaptation left too much of the story out.
It's hard to say exactly. All of them seemed a bit strange.
They were all performed well.
The sequence where the old Nazi is confronted by the Israeli Agent in the hospital.
The book is far more graphic than the movie adaptation.
Maybe. It was entertaining. And gives another perspective to history from a comedic viewpoint.
Although I don't recall Elvis being mentioned, the aliens and JFK part were interesting enough - though he has held onto some urban legends that have been disproved time and again. It's almost as if this book was meant for pro-conspiracy people who will believe anything that seems to prove their position.
He's a professional actor, so his delivery was professional. I don't mind the profanity. It adds spice to the book.
If I had the time, yes. Although historically inaccurate in some places, it's entertaining to hear the pro-conspiracy side in a sarcastic and comedic delivery.
He gets a lot of things wrong. I would suggest anybody who listened to this to also listen to 'Reclaiming History', Just so you know where this book departs from history and goes into wild conspiracy theories. There has to be some balance here!
It felt like time travel. I felt like I went back in time and witnessed history from the perspective of an ordinary man who would one day become a legend without knowing it himself.
From the moment the ship hit the iceberg, and the rest from there. I knew there had to be more to the story than what history teaches us. And I was right.
No. But I would like to once Audible makes them available. (Please hurry!)
"How greed sank the Titanic."
I know Mr. Barnes has written more detailed books about his life as Thomas Andrews. This one is amazing. But I want more details. Possibly from his other books? How do they differ from this book? I would like to know. I would also ask Audible to make these other books available soon!
I would definitely recommend this book. Out of all of the fictional stories written about saving JFK, this one seems to be the most realistic and though provoking.
The characters raise a vital question most other time travel stories centered around saving JFK never explore; how does one go about saving Kennedy if we can't be sure about there having been a conspiracy?
No. This is my first.
Everything from the point where Jake comes clean about being from the future up until the moment Kennedy is saved.
An alternate ending would've been nice. Just to see what would've happened if Jake had taken her back to 2011 with him.
This audiobook is a record of historical importance and tells the listener things that only those closest to the assassination would know. Many of the lies and conspiracy theories people blindly accept are refuted here.
Eichmann In My Hands, by Peter Malkin. The first hand accounts given in both books shed new light on two very important historical events.
Not too extreme. But I felt more sympathy for the Secret Service Agents who witnessed the assassination.
I would strongly recommend this book, as it dispels several lies that have been told in connection to JFK, his death, and his security detail.
fresh, new perspective.
This retelling of the Eichmann story mentions details and events often left out of other books written on the subject.
When Eichmann expressed sympathy for the interrogator's murdered father.
I think the other comments about this book are a bit harsh. It may not be the best book on the subject, but it offers a new perspective. Peter Malkin and Zvi Aharoni, two of the agents who captured Eichmann, have written about their experiences and those books should also be read by anybody who had read this one. Over all, I would say that this book is certainly worth reading. It also explores the issue of holocaust denial and the psychology behind Nazism. Although the narrator sounded inexperienced, it was still an enjoyable and educational audiobook.
