cut out the boring parts.

it is a classic, i understand that. to me the redeeming quality was as a study in old novels. i just thought it would be more fast paced and exciting.

the narrator was fine, the story was not holding my attention.

not sure, it was a while ago i listened. i just remember it was something i suffered through anticipating something good to come that never showed.

i have not yet read the print version, although now i would like to.

the whole thing. was i supposed to remember it? i just enjoyed the ride!! i loved the personalities and the tumultuous live of each character. way cooler than real life ;)

this was an exciting listen. honestly i don't even remember much of the story specifics now but i did listen to it all the way through which can be big for me. i listen at work. if it does not put me to sleep that is a big plus. this one is worthy of a listen. sorry for a spotty review but if you are willing to go on a little adventure this one will take you there i am sure.

the story of factions and choice. growing up and the decisions we make. all relevant stuff.

it felt to me there were too many contradictions in the characters personalities. the story was hard to believe.

i have not read the print version but the narrator was very enjoyable. the accents helped paint a great picture in my head.

i won't pick one. i thought they were all important to weaving the story that i heard. minor characters had big impact, i like that.

yes, i thought the plot was engaging. i listened all day.

i don't remember it being bad and literally i listened to this thing non-stop on a day off so either i was crazy bored or the narrator was good, or both.

not really it was just a fun story that was easy to get lost in.

not a character so much but at times the author would write from wildly idealistic perspectives, then when those did not pan out use them to juxtapose the reality of the situation. i thought is was a weird lens to see the past and future.

the narrator is excellent. and of course the story, it is fairly well paced and kept me interested throughout the lengthy story. this one could keep going and going, which i think it does...

yes, it is escaping me at the moment. no matter i really enjoy john lee as a narrator. he does voice and inflection very well.

my memory is failing me but at some point in the story there was a wedding and as the bride and groom left the alter ken follet wrote the guests threw corn on the newlyweds. there was no corn in europe during this time in history. maybe i was just lost in a dream as i drove down the road but that is what i thought i heard.
