I never listen self-help book twice, but I would recommend it!

The author, of course. I usually do not like listening to self help books (why listen to the whole thing, I can just skim through a print book and be self enlightened!) I honestly did enjoy this book though - part of it is the author. I enjoyed her outlook on life.

The author is a businesswoman, not a natural narrator, but I liked hearing the sincerity and humor in her voice that may have been lost with another narrator.

Good for women, especially if you're going through a tough time at work.

What a let down.
I loved the first book. I loved the characters.
I pre-ordered the book. It fell to pieces.

The only plot that this followed was one of teen angst: "I like him, no I like him, no I don't know what to do" Major events were happening in the story - additional raids, traitors. No description on these major plot events, nope, all taking a back seat to the love triangle.

Then, to make what little plot come together, the author would drop plot bombshells on the readers left and right. Traitors, cheating, abuse, by characters that you liked, and it seemed that there was no reason for these twists and turns that tore down the character development that was done in the first book, other than to highlight the love triangle- that did not make sense in the first place.

What a disappointment.

The first book was so fun, and this did not live up.

I wasn't sure what to expect when picking out this book, and was pleasantly surprised with an engaging listen - follows the story of an orphan kitchen girl as she helps an unknown knight.

Nice, strong girl lead, characters a bit cardboard cut-outs- act asone would expect - the shy sidekick, the wise leader, the fiesty girl, the rough on the outside, tender on the inside cook. But the plot and premise is original.

A good listen, and I bought the following one in the series.

This was a disappointment. I recall loving this story as a nine and ten year old. It was magical!

Listening as an adult, it had lost its magic. The adventure not that adventurous and the characters too simple and not complex.

I truly regret buying this, as I feel I lost a bit of magic.

If you're like me and pay attention to the ratings, and not the actual details, you may have accidentally skimmed over the part that while it is a romance, it is between a male couple. "Kiernan" being a man.

Pretty good story line, and I imagine if you were gay, and liked romance books, this would be a great listen.

This book was such a disappointment after being a fan of Sanderson's other work. There were these long snarky and oh so clever asides about writers and authors...that I, as the listener couldn't really care less about. No suspense...no plot...bad

Don't get it, pass this one by.

Not sure. This is the type of book you'd pick up and read on a rainy day or borrow at your sister's house because you're bored. Not one you'd intentionally purchase at full price, but worth a read or listen if the price is right.

Certainly Eve's travels are interesting. I was disappointed in how her story was portrayed though. Her book highlights an averageness. It was a story of a woman whose love for an amazing husband is evident, but not one that highlights an amazing woman. Not to say that she's not, but she didn't convey that to the reader.

I really enjoyed Conor Greenan's Little Princes,for example,because it highlights an average Joe who seems to stumble into excellence. This seems to be focused on the reverse.

What happened next.

I did finish this book. The author seems like a nice, well intentioned person. I just disagreed with his connection between the military and humanitarianism. Didn't make sense and the story itself wasn't worth it for itself. But his intentions are good, and a portion of the profits from the sales go to support his NGO.

This book is going to be a smashing success, and I couldn't think of a better format to listen than on audible.

The story follows "Cinder" an adopted teen who is a cyborg (really, it isn't as unappealing as it sounds) basically she has had her lower leg and hand replaced by a futuristic artificial parts and is thus rejected from the mainstream society. She has to save the kingdom by retrieving information. Has some suspense, action, and likeable protagonist. The one fault in the book is that I think it follows the story of Cinderella a little too closely. Overall a great listen!

This is a slow paced book. Great premise, great plot. Meandering middle. I ended up skipping the second half of the second, entire third and first part of the fourth installment and "listened ahead" to the ending. Oddly enough, I don't feel I missed much. I wouldn't recommend to readers who are looking for action and adventure, but may be a pleasant for others.
