Like every other hobbit, Bilbo Baggins likes nothing better than a quiet evening in his snug hole in the ground, dining on a sumptuous dinner in front of a fire. But when a wandering wizard captivates him with tales of the unknown, Bilbo becomes restless. Soon he joins the wizard’s band of homeless dwarves in search of giant spiders, savage wolves, and other dangers. Bilbo quickly tires of the quest for adventure and longs for the security of his familiar home. But before he can return to his life of comfort, he must face the greatest threat of all.

Only a handful of people in the world know that mankind's magic comes from a living creature, and it is a refugee from another universe. The Power showed up here in the 1850s because it was running from something. Now it is 1933, and the Power's hiding place has been discovered by a killer. It is a predator that eats magic and leaves destroyed worlds in its wake. Earth is next. Former private eye Jake Sullivan knows the score. The problem is, hardly anyone believes him.

Love this series. The characters are very vivid and the story line and plot very good. Not as predictible as some sci fi series. Always something interesting just around the corner. The narrator is awesome, and I believe won some awards for his performance. He really brings a great story to life. I hope there are more books to come from Larry Correia.

Rachel Morgan is a runner with the Inderland Runner Services, apprehending law-breakers throughout Cincinnati. She's also a witch, one of the many Inderlanders who revealed themselves after a genetically engineered virus wiped out 50 percent of humanity. Witches, warlocks, vampires, werewolves: the creatures of dreams and nightmares have lived beside humans for centuries, hiding their powers. But now they've stopped hiding, and nothing will be the same.

OK - I've found a new series and I hope all the rest are as entertaining as Book 1. If you are looking for a deep, heart wrenching story, don't look here. This book is funny, entertaining, easy listening. I really enjoyed the personalities of the characters and had to purchase and download Book 2 as soon as Book 1 was over. These books are right up my alley and satisfy my audibook entertainment needs. Kim Harrison doesn't involve too many characters to keep track of, especially while driving, and I didn't notice any lag time in the storyline at all. The narrator did a spectacular job also. Thanks!

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

Would you listen to The Night Circus again? Why?

No. The story was a bit slow for me. It was intriguing and interesting but not much action.

Would you recommend The Night Circus to your friends? Why or why not?

    Sure

What about Jim Dale’s performance did you like?

    Everything!!

If you could take any character from The Night Circus out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Uhm, that's just a weird question.

    Any additional comments?

Jim Dale is awesome, as always.
