"Good back, distracting narration"
First off, I got this book primarily because Scott Brick was the narrator (In the Heart of the Sea is probably the best narrated book ever, IMO) but he tries way to hard to make the story more interesting which it already is. His emphasis on some words and phrases is so distracting that I laughed out loud sometimes. Good book though once you get used to his style. I thought maybe it was the author so I went to the bookstore and read some. Not sure what Scott was trying to do with this one...
"Great Listen"
Slow to start, this is a fascinating read. Scott Brick is an excellent narrator and the story made me want to glue my headphones to my ear until the story was over. HIGHLY recommended.
"Great Read- Great Listen"
I've read this book at least 5 times over the past 10 years and I'm riveted every time. The audio book is awesome but I'm disappointed that Mr. Krakauer didn't narrate it himself. He's a great author and even better narrator in my opinion. Don't pass this up.
"Best Audio Book I've Ever Heard"
Bryson has a special gift at storytelling the narrator only adds to the material. Bryson touches on the important parts from the Big Bang to the extinction of species but it never gets tedious and he sprinkled in enough interesting anecdotes that kept me focused on the story. Highly recommended!
