I laughed and cried and enjoyed every minute of this thought provoking and entertaining read.
So many great life lessons.. some very basic, but all very true. Well done. Hope my book club picks this one!
Sometimes reading a great story is challenging because of the annoying heroine. I thought this book was well written and contained a lot of character development with many twists and turns. It was worth sticking through but boy was I annoyed at the beginning of this book. I challenge you to read it you will enjoy it. Well done.
Combining quite a few historical events, Civil war, slave freedom trail, immigration to the states, successfully is quite a trick, however, the May the Road Rise up to Meet You brought interest and life to several key characters in a short period of time.
The character development in this book was great considering how many characters this author covered.
This story is a broad sweep of a very interesting time in our history. I enjoyed the journey.
Enjoyed every moment right up to the excellent ending.
Enjoyed this entertaining read with a football twist. Current events feature fallen QB's in the news, you would think Ms. Brown ahead of the game. Escape and enjoy.
Once started no going back. Poetic and stark, but finding moments of warmth in the relationship between Father and Son. A ray of light, the saving grace, hope prevails.
