"Well Written and Witty"
I enjoy this series of books immensely. Amelia is a strong woman with a husband who appreciates her, and their adventures are always interesting. The author tells her stories with wry wit, and the narrator does a good job of the varied characters and their accents.
"Outstanding!"
This is really the best book I can remember listening to in a long time.
"Couldn't Finish It"
I bought this book because of all the rave reviews, but I was unable to finish it. I found the story to be plodding and rather gruesome. On the plus side, I did like the narrator.
"Very Good Story and Narrator"
I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. The whole idea was interesting, with well-developed characters. The narrator, Stephen Hoye did an excellent job with the many characters.
"Great series, upgraded narration"
I do really enjoy this series, and this book is well-written and well-narrated. The addition of a male voice has really improved listening pleasure. My only complaint is that there is not yet a resolution to this story after 4 books. I feel cheated.
"Enjoyable, Well-Narrated"
A very enjoyable story, with just the right narrator.
"Grim"
I thought this book was mostly well-written, and the narrator was quite good. It's a grim story, with little lightness. I felt that the author ran out of story at the end, and just left things hanging. Sometimes this is done to set up for a sequel, but I'm not interested enough to want to read a sequel.
"Interesting Story"
I found the story to be an interesting one, but the narrator was extremely weak. Her attempt at different accents was painful, and greatly detracted from my enjoyment of the audiobook. I'd like to listen to other books in this series, but will probably pass if this narrator is attached.
"A Real Snoozer"
I really tried to like this book, but had to stop listening before it was finished. I found the narrator's accents irritating, and the story just wasn't interesting enough for me to give up more valuable time to it. I like Trigiani's earlier books, but it just seems like she is trying too hard here.
"Excellent Narrators"
The narrators in this book are outstanding. They really bring the story to life, and one can imagine the story through their eyes. The best book I've listened to in a long, long time.
