"Great Pre-DNA thriller"
This book is entertaining and is perfect for any long drive or distraction.
I truly enjoyed this book, Tami Hoag does a good job writing a murder/suspense thriller in an age before DNA & computers. Although sometimes its a bit ridiculous that the main detectives (Vince & Tony) talk about what DNA will bring to the job of solving murders. I can't imagine any detective in the 80's had any notion DNA & computers would take the role they have taken in solving murders. That is hardly a complaint just a musing I had while listening to this great novel. The characters are rich in substance and don't always take the path that is most predictable. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and the one before it and Already downloading book 3.
"Interesting concept but no linearity in the story!"
Better story
Confusing which characters were talking and who the story was about.
Narrator had a good voice.
Frustration, very difficult to follow who was talking and where the story was going.
I like the honest description of how the time period was, the story was just too jumbled with little or no direction.
"My fav series on audiobook since Harry Potter~!"
Nick Podehl is one of the best Narrators I've heard, the only one I find superior is Jim Dale.
The brilliance and patience this story is told is AMAZING!
When Kvothe meets the Chandrian took my breathe away... one of the saddest moments I've ever heard in a story.
I was looking for a book that was long and had a great story, I've never been as engrossed in a book as I am with this book. Absolutely perfectly written!
"Great listen, but something is missing..."
Definitely some suspenseful material
Yes, Solid!
Make sure you listen to Night Sins first! Great characters and great build up for the end, once the mystery is revealed there is not enough details about all that the "bad guys" did. I'm not one to rewrite an authors book but this ones ending did let me down a bit. still highly recommend it! But I feel like there is a lot left unresolved with these great characters.
"I love Odd Thomas"
A fun addition to the adventures of Odd Thomas. Where Dean Koontz came up with the manner in which the "bad guy" treats the family in this story is from an extremely dark & disturbing place.
"Cool direction"
I loved Mike's Conversation with a creator!
He has really fine tuned his character voices! Love hearing his BT voice!
I think Tufo has gone some crazy and hard to believe directions, however Mike Talbot and the gang are such great characters that he has free reign!
"A great listen!"
I held off getting this book because of some of the review, and I can agree that the sex in this book does feel misplaced. I'm not a prude about hearing sex, but this definitely took some of the shine off the story, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.
I really like Tami Hoag's writing and her ability to write a suspense thriller is getting better with every book of hers i read/listen too. It's an easy listen, and definitely has that, "i'll drive the long way home" because you wanna hear what happens next!
"Not too shabby"
Not really, but it did keep me guessing.
I like the story and there were pretty good story twists. definitely an enjoyable listen.
