At 22, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother's death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life: to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State - and to do it alone. She had no experience as a long-distance hiker, and the trail was little more than “an idea, vague and outlandish and full of promise.” But it was a promise of piecing back together a life that had come undone.

I do not usually read (or listen to) stories from this genre but I was pleasantly surprised! I cried, I laughed, and the narrator was able to pull me into the story so that I felt I was actually on the trail with Cheryl.

Chris & James made me cry with this installment in the AUD series! This was absolutely fantastic and ended way to quickly! 10.5 hours was not long enough! I certainly hope book #6 is currently in the making because I'm not sure I can wait 2-3 months!

This book held me captivated the entire time! The story is solid, character development is decent, and the narrator does a bang-up job! I'm actually listening to the series for the 2nd time to prepare myself for "Well Fed". This series is on my top 20 favorites, which says a lot considering I have over 400 audible books in my library! Don't hesitate, just go ahead and spend the credit! You won't regret it!

From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

Aminata Diallo is the beguiling heroine of Lawrence Hill's Someone Knows My Name. In it, Hill exquisitely imagines the tale of an 18th-century woman's life, spanning six decades and three continents. The fascinating story that Hill tells is a work of the soul and the imagination. Aminata is a character who will stir listeners, from her kidnapping from Africa through her journeys back and forth across the ocean.

Nick Gautier is tired of his destiny. He doesn’t want to be the son of a demon who’s fated to end the world. Nor does he want to see another demon or other preternatural creature who wants to kill or enslave him. He just wants to be normal and have normal problems like everyone else. But normality isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

I'm loving this series and can't wait for the next book! The author and the narrator are a magical team! With that being said..it seemed like Holter's character voices were different with this book than in the previous books. When I first started this last book, I thought it was a new narrator and had to check the details...maybe it's just me? Anyway...I love the books! The story is great and the narrator breathes life into the characters! I highly recommend listening to this series even if you haven't read/listened to the other dark hunter books yet.

For the first time, the Internet phenomenon is now in print! Beheading a zombie isn't easy in a world where you're more afraid of the living than the dead. Adrian Ring's simple life is thrown into chaos when the world is ripped apart by a plague of undead and legions of desperate survivors. Retreating to Auburn Lake Preparatory Academy, Adrian attempts to rescue friends and family on the way while dancing around his impending insanity over who and what he left behind, and evading maniac survivors.

This turned out to be a great story! The narrator, James Foster is very good and has a way of breathing life into the characters. The story itself is very interesting and well written. My only complaint is that the book didn't seem long enough...I could have listened to Adrian's diary entries for a few more hours at least! Thank Goodness there is a Volume 2...which I will be starting as soon as I finish writing this review! Nice work Mr. Philbrook & Mr. Foster!
