I do not usually read (or listen to) stories from this genre but I was pleasantly surprised! I cried, I laughed, and the narrator was able to pull me into the story so that I felt I was actually on the trail with Cheryl.
Another fantastic addition to the Southern Vampire series. However, something seemed to be wrong with the audio and/or narration this time. Sookie seemed to lose some of her southern accent in this book and I could hear the narrator swallowing frequently. It was pretty distracting. This shouldn't prevent you from listening to the book though. I'm picky when it comes to narration and if you can get past the somewhat minor audio issues the story is 100% worth a credit! I just hope Johanna is back on track for book #6 because the 1st four books were read perfectly.
I wasn't sure about this one but reluctantly started to listen. It wasn't long before I was hooked. The narrator, Kevin T. Collins does a fantastic job breathing life into the characters. The story line brings an interesting perspective & point of view. I'm buying book 2 as soon as I click submit on this review!
I was reluctant to start this audible because it is not my usual genre, however I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it! The story is well written. Even though there are tons of science details I had never heard of before and some strong language (in my opinion these details, as well as the cursing, were crucial to the story), the story was easy to follow and there was not a dull moment anywhere in the book. There was loads of action and even quite a bit of humor. The main character was a hoot despite his dire circumstances. I have to give the narrator, R. C. Bray a 5 star, double thumbs up. He breathed life into the characters with his very pleasant and interesting voice. His reading style kept me hooked! I'll be looking for more of his work!
The story was well written, the character development was very good, and the narrator is one of the best I've heard. His female voices are not cheesy at all and his tone of perfect. Story and voice draws the listener into that world...I seriously feel like I should have an M-14 strapped to my back right now, patrolling for infected humans...(haha)
I would compare it to Zombie Fallout by Mark Tufo, even though the take on Zombies is quite different and this has a much more military theme.
Capt. Lee of course :-)
Yes, I devoured every book in there series, one right after the other.
I'm hoping & praying & hoping some more that The Remaining "Trust" is released on Audible very, very soon since the ebook release date is March 25, 2014. Please put a RUSH on this one Audible!!! :-)
I would be willing to listen to the next book in the series.
I would compare this series to the Molly Harper series' "Nice Girls" & "Naked Werewolf" (also narrated by Amanda Ronconi). Though IMHO this series is lacking a little in comparison.
I have listened to all of Amanda's narrations! She performs this book in the same manner as all of her others. She has a way of bringing life to the characters and reads like she is speaking to you, not just reading a script.
Yes, and I did just that :-)
I just finished listening to the Zombie Fallout series and I was finding myself reluctant to begin a series that has Michael Talbot doing anything but killing Zombies...I mean, aliens? Seriously? Oh Come On!!! However...my doubts were completely unfounded. This series is absolutely fantastic! Just as good as Zombie Fallout and Lycan Fallout. I definitely feel this book was well worth the credit spent. Also, there is something special about the Mark Tufo/Sean Runnette SUPER DUO. Anything they produce together is nothing short of magical :-) and I would be more than willing to spend a credit just to listen to Sean Runnette narrate Mark Tufo's grocery list! So stop reading reviews and just click the confirm button. Your search is over...you will not regret purchasing this audible!!!
Yes, I will eventually listen to this entire series again...because it is JUST THAT GOOD!
John the Tripper is BACK!
No other person on the face of the planet could read this story like Sean Runnette does. The story is great, definitely one of my favs, but Sean's voice really brings the characters to life. Tufo & Runnette are a SUPER DUO!
The ending confused me a bit because it was so abrupt. But the extra Talbot entries helped ease my pain :-)
Yes, I have already recommended this book, actually the entire series, to all of my friends and family!
This story is light and funny. There was never a dull moment and the geeky humor had me laughing out loud in public (which resulted in many curious glances from bystanders).
Mr Fetherolf is also going to the top of my favorite narrators list, just under Sean Runnette, Grover Gardener, and Amanda Ronconi!!
Well it is Bill, of course!!!
I truly loved this book, the story, the characters and the narrator!
The characters are very interesting and quite funny. It is a great new take on the Zombie scene. Beware if you are sensitive to profanity because Angel swears like a sailor, however, I felt it did not detract from the story at all and actually added to it.
The narrator is actually very good and her accent lends a realistic voice to the characters in the story.
Yes! Sean Runnette has given Michael a voice. Reading in print just wouldn't be the same. Besides, I'm much more productive when listening to books rather than vegetating on the couch for hours.
Yes! I listened non-stop with only short breaks for sleeping.
Sean Runnette is not just a book reader...he is a true story teller! His voices for different characters are excellent and he never gets the "creepy or irritating" women's voice when portraying a female character. Best narrator & author combo ever!
