Only a handful of people in the world know that mankind's magic comes from a living creature, and it is a refugee from another universe. The Power showed up here in the 1850s because it was running from something. Now it is 1933, and the Power's hiding place has been discovered by a killer. It is a predator that eats magic and leaves destroyed worlds in its wake. Earth is next. Former private eye Jake Sullivan knows the score. The problem is, hardly anyone believes him.

Would you listen to Warbound again? Why?

All ready have. In fact listened to all three again. Enjoyed as much, if not more than first time.

What other book might you compare Warbound to and why?

Hard to compare since have not read a book like it. American history mixed with alternative universe.
If had to pick, Theft of swords by Michael Sullivan. Believable characters, humor and interesting story line.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Faye in dead city

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"It!s just like history class.... With one VERY important difference."

    Any additional comments?

Well worth your audible credits. I like to get a "best bang for the buck" as we'll as good story. Being around 16 hours long, this has both.

Jake Sullivan is a licensed private eye with a seriously hardboiled attitude. He also possesses raw magical talent and the ability to make objects in his vicinity light as a feather or as heavy as depleted uranium, all with a magical thought. It's no wonder the G-men turn to Jake when they need someoneto go after a suspected killer who has been knocking off banks in a magic-enhanced crime spree.

This is hands-down the favorite audiobook I have my 160 + library. (I have all the Larry Correia books).
Probably have listened to it six times. Excellent story and Bronson Pinchot is quickly becoming my favorite narrator as well. Does a fantastic job. I even picked up a couple books I normally would not have just because he was the narrator, he is that good.
The author never disappoints. I have never purchased one of his books and regretted it. Everyone could be listened to several times

Well-written fast-paced story, excellent narration by Scott Brick. Well worth the credit.

Where does Murder on the Orient Elite rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Near the top, hard to compare because of the length. The best of any short story I have iin my library

What was one of the most memorable moments of Murder on the Orient Elite?

    Two words, "elephant gun"

What does Bronson Pinchot bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This guy is quickly becoming my all-time favorite narrator. Personally I think he's at least in the top three if not number one. I was introducing audible to a family member by listening to a story narrated by Bronson, he exclaimed with surprise "that's the same guy doing all the voices"? Yep, he's that good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes and did

    Any additional comments?

I have never read a disappointing story by this author, he is probably my favorite of all.

A long-buried family secret resurfaces when one of Aloysius Pendergast's most implacable enemies shows up on his doorstep as a murdered corpse. The mystery has all the hallmarks of the perfect murder, save for an enigmatic clue: a piece of turquoise lodged in the stomach of the deceased. The gem leads Pendergast to an abandoned mine on the shore of California's desolate Salton Sea, which in turn propels him on a journey of discovery deep into his family's sinister past.

What did you love best about Blue Labyrinth?

Continually engaging story, The return of a character we have not heard from him for a while. Took a couple directions I was not anticipating.

What other book might you compare Blue Labyrinth to and why?

Previous Preston and Child/Agent Pendergast books. Overall I am enjoyed all of them.
This one was good because of the story itself however I do like it when there is some new weird family history exposed.

What about Rene Auberjonois’s performance did you like?

Fairly clear separation of voices. Good inflection of current emotion in characters
Consistency of characters as well, They sound like I remembered.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I only had one extreme reaction, more of a pet peeve that REALLY REALLY annoys me.
I realize this is more of a production/editing problem but anyone who has read the stories knows agent Pendergast is a very intelligent, worldly individual with a fantastic vocabulary.
For the love anything sacred, the name "Porsche" HAS TWO SYLLABLES!!!!
If agent Pendergast can pronounce the name of a rare French wine that's half the length of an average book chapter, you would think he could get that right.
Doesn't anyone "proof listen" to these things?

    Any additional comments?

    See extreme reaction comment.

Would you consider the audio edition of Hidden Empire: The Saga of Seven Suns, Book 1 to be better than the print version?

    Did not read

What other book might you compare Hidden Empire: The Saga of Seven Suns, Book 1 to and why?

Game of thrones, less complicated but good story none the less.

What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?

George is my favorite, rarely find fault with his work, did well on this as expected

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    None set apart from others

    Any additional comments?

A slow start, took me a while to sort out and place all characters. Liked enough to get 2nd book and just finishing 3rd. I like to listen to multi books in a series and I'm always pleased when after the first I look forward to the next ones.
Spend a lot of time in the car so 20+ hours gave me value for my credit as well.

More than 40 years ago, Mario Puzo wrote his iconic portrait of the Mafia underworld as told through the fictional first family of American crime, the Corleones. The leader, Vito Corleone, is the Godfather. He is a benevolent despot who stops at nothing to gain and hold power. His command post is a fortress on Long Island from which he presides over a vast underground empire that includes the rackets, gambling, bookmaking, and unions. His influence runs through all levels of American society, from the cop on the beat to the nation's mighty.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Godfather to be better than the print version?

Would be difficult to judge since I use audiobooks only

What did you like best about this story?

The pace and detail of the story was excellent

What about Joe Mantegna’s performance did you like?

All the characters were very believable. While he is an extremely good actor in his own right is narration skills are exceptional as well

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

This is kind of a moot point since it is a film and one of the best of it's kind

    Any additional comments?

Even though I have seen the movie a few times I still found the book to be very entertaining. I purchased as a daily deal and I think audible is doing a good service by marketing in such a way. Wouldn't normally have purchased this title but I am glad I did now. Especially books that are one of several in a series.

After springing Corrie from jail, Pendergast learns she made a discovery while examining the bones of several miners who were killed 150 years earlier by a rogue grizzly bear.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes if they've read one or more of the previous series as a standalone by itself it would not make sense

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It was partially predictable but I did enjoy the interchange with the main characters

What does Rene Auberjonois bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Does a good job with different voices available, painting a more vivid picture in your mind of what they would look like.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes but to explain would be a spoiler.Towards the very end when things didn't look so good

    Any additional comments?

I have listen to every book in the series and find them entertaining some more so than others the only part that bothers me is the occasional insertion of a political viewpoint. There is a portion in this book where a survivalist type person was being spoken to and of course he was portrayed as an over the top gun nut and a racist. There was a comment about how every gun within viewing distance had been converted to fully automatic and anyone who knows guns realizes this is an impossibility. You cannot tell for sure unless you inspect it. it was merely put into the story to reinforce the view that he was unstable.Parts of the story that had wine or food described I'm assuming were accurate but as far as guns and other mechanical devices, not so muchIf the writers choose to insert their opinions they have every right to do so but at least get some facts correct.
