  • Orion: Orion Series, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 31 mins)
    • By Ben Bova
    • Narrated By Stefan Rudnicki

John O'Ryan is not a god...not exactly. He is an eternal warrior destined to combat the Dark Lord through all time for dominion of the Earth. Follow him, servant of a great race, as he battles his enemy down the halls of time, from the caves of our ancestors to the final confrontation under the hammer of nuclear annihilation.

Jim "The Impatient" says: "Cornucopia of Genre's"
    "A battle of time travelers"
Would you listen to Orion again? Why?

I rarely listen to audiobooks twice, so no.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Orion?

At the end of the Mogolian timeline, where Orion had to complete his mission. Don't want to say more about it, because it would be a spoiler.

What does Stefan Rudnicki bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He gave Orion a different feel, than what I probably would have given him, if I read it myself, and I think this form probably were the better one.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

In the last part of the book, the truth behind the purpose of Orion's mission, and the truth about the enemy's "identity" is revealed, which turns out to be a sad one, making you pity the enemy, and Orion.

  • Monster Hunter International

    • UNABRIDGED (23 hrs and 34 mins)
    • By Larry Correia
    • Narrated By Oliver Wyman
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Five days after Owen Zastava Pitt pushed his insufferable boss out of a 14th story window, he woke up in the hospital with a scarred face, an unbelievable memory, and a job offer. It turns out that monsters are real. All the things from myth, legend, and B-movies are out there, waiting in the shadows. Some of them are evil, and some are just hungry. Monster Hunter International is the premier eradication company in the business. And now Owen is their newest recruit.

Mariya says: "Killin’s my business and business is fine"
    "It's great!"
Where does Monster Hunter International rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would say that it were ranked as #6.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I became particularly fond of Earl, I am not too sure why, but there were something that came out of the personality that the author gave him that just made you like him.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The favorite scene were the scene after Owen's out of body experience, when they had gone on a mission, and it turned out the mission led to the exact ship Owen had seen in his out of body, and had to talk to Earl about it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

A 500 year old evil is about to bring the end of the world, all that stands in it's way, Monster Hunter International, and an accountant.

    Any additional comments?

Oliver Wyman's performance is great, his women voices might take some time getting used to.
