Two strangers, young men from Pennsylvania and South Carolina, meet on the way to West Point.... Thus begins this brilliant novel of antebellum America, spanning three generations and chronicling the lives and loves of two great family dynasties. The Hazards and the Mains are brought together in bonds of friendship and affection that neither jealousy nor violence can shatter - until a storm of events sunders the nation and brings the cataclysm of war!

Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

Where does The Racketeer rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It felt like one of the old Grisham novels. You never were left wanting and always wanted to keep listening. I spent time in my garage listening before I went into the house.

What did you like best about this story?

There was no black and white. Each character has good and bad.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

No one is who you think he is! Is good, good or is evil, evil?
