"Cowley out"
I heard the author on NPR and was very interested in the book 59 seconds. Mr.Wiseman is very intelligent and highly entertaining speaker. I was hoping the audio book is narrated by him. Not so. When I listened to the book, Mr.Cowley put me to sleep at once with his monotonous and colorless voice. This is not how a book should be narrated. Bad choice of narrator! Buy paper edition instead.
"I am sorry, Mr.Caine..."
I can't give more than 2 stars for performance and 3 stars overall for one reason - frequently very low volume. I am not sure if it is the recording/studio issue, but I must say I think it is the way Mr.Caine speaks. His voice gets extremely soft, lower than whisper and at that point becomes totally incomprehensible ... And I am a 38 year old with no hearing problems!
I couldn't hear at all about fifth of the book and that's a shame, because the content is fascinating. Yes, I listen in the car, but I never had any problems with other audio material from Audible.com. Subsequently, I think I would recommend this book to read and not to listen.
No.
Laugh and cry, both.
