For those that love the Star Wars universe, absolutely. It gives great insight into Palpatine's rise to power, and provides much needed backstory to the somewhat ham-handed recent films.
Overall, the voice performance and audio effects were fist class. Especially the voicing of the titlular character, it was just the right amount of hidden malice and all-knowing assuredness. The one drawback, for me personally, was there was SO much time spent on political intrigue and machinations, that after a while those plot areas became repetitive and dull to listen to. This is likely personal preference, but I did lose interest and have to replay some portions because my mind wandered away from the readings during these portions.
After being turned on to Sanderson when he was tabbed to complete Jordan's Wheel of Time series, I have pretty much loved everything he has penned.
It began here with the Mistborn trilogy. This story has it all, unique and consistent "magic" system coupled with gritty world detail. Heroes, anti-heroes, villians turned heroes, heroes turned villians. Romance, political intrigue. Plot twists and turns... get this audiobook and you will be hooked. Vin is perhaps my favorite character of all time. She is lethal and vulnerable without it seeming cliche. I found myself rooting for her, while at times cursing her decisions.
Be careful, once you finish this work, you will likely HAVE to get the series and everything else Sanderson has written. As he is a prolific writer, you may be on the hook for quite a large amount of money!
