Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I always enjoy his books. this is the weakest book from him. The story get good until book 4 and too much whining . The narrator must be new because it wasn't the usual voices and the voices were whiny in addition to the text

Would you be willing to try another book from James Patterson and Maxine Paetro ? Why or why not?

    Absolutely!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

    She had whiny voice

Could you see 12th of Never being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    No!

    Any additional comments?

I waited so long for this book and was so dissappointed

Top plastic surgeon Elijah Creem is renowned for his skills in the operating room, and for his wild, no-expense-spared "industry parties", bringing in underage exotic dancers and models for nights of drugs, champagne, and uninhibited sex. That is, until Detective Alex Cross busts one of Creem's lavish soirees and ruins his fun. Now Creem is willing to do anything to avoid going to jail. But Alex doesn't have time to dwell on that case. A beautiful woman has been found murdered in her car, a lock of her hair viciously ripped off. Then a second woman is found hanging from a sixth-floor window with a brutal scar slashed across her stomach....

But when a string of bizarre murders erupts across several Manhattan hotels, NYPD Lieutenant D'Agosta asks his friend Pendergast for help.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

It was too disjointed. There were too many different stories going on which would not have been a problem except one story appeared in the middle of another and you had to switch gears to get back into that story. The transition could have been smoother. It was odd to see Pendergast so dark. I loved the Constance story. It explains so much. You needed Vincent more.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Constance story line was the most interesting. the Cory story

    Which scene was your favorite?

didn't have one in this book

Would you try another book from Janet Evanovich and/or Lorelei King?

I love these books and the current narrator. The narrator gives life and character to each person. The story seemed thrown together and the narrator seemed disinterested. I was let down from the usual excitement of a Stephanie Plum adventure

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

for the first time, the narrator sounded tired and lackluster

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I love the private series. The whole British accent ruined the characters I had envisioned in my mind. The story was weak and lack luster. Usuallly Patterson has you in suspense. I was just plain bored. I have read every Patterson book--this was the first to disappoint. I didn't like hearing the owner of Private--Jack speak in a British accent.

Would you be willing to try another book from James Patterson and Mark Sullivan ? Why or why not?

Absolutely! I love all the characters and stories Patterson writes. As for Sullivan, if he wrote the prior 2 privates then yes. If not, then probably not

How could the performance have been better?

The reader lacked the suspense that past readers of Patterson books has had. It was very boring. It was one dimensional. The narrator never changed his voice for different characters or his inflection. I never really felt like it was a suspense, mystery or thriller.

Was Private Games worth the listening time?

I didn't turn it off so I guess so.

I love the Stephanie Plum series and I wouldn't write a review as a general rule. this was less that impressive. it was predictable and boring. the only good thing about this book was its narrator. i am concerned that there is not much left to Stephanie Plum and her friends.

FBI Agent Pendergast has taken Constance on a whirlwind Grand Tour. They head to Tibet, where Pendergast intensively trained in martial arts and spiritual studies. At a remote monastery, they learn that a rare and dangerous artifact the monks have been guarding for generations has been stolen. Pendergast agrees to take up the search. The trail leads him and Constance to the maiden voyage of the Queen Victoria passenger liner - and to an Atlantic crossing fraught with terror.

I am a fan of Agent Pendergast and eagarly awaited this book. I was very disappointed. The story line dragged on and I had to replay parts of the story because I thought I missed something. This happened on numerous occasions. I did not like Constance's larger part. I couldn't wait until it was finished.
