"Mesmerizing"
I was never quite sure what was happening, and couldn't stop listening. A delightfully puzzling trip.
"Fascinating Book, Frustrating Reading"
The use of two readers was irritating. Had just the man read, I'd give the performance 4 or 5 stars. Just the woman, 3 stars. Together, bouncing back and forth, 1 star. Still glad I listened. Certainly worth the time!
"Fantastic Performances"
It was a delight to listen to this rich philosophical narrative so well read.
"Disappointing. Boring."
I stayed with this because it was J K Rowling. But it was awful. No inspiration. Author made me care about only two of the characters. Full of small-minded people engaged, for the most part, in petty or desperate behaviors. I wish I had not wasted the credit to buy and the time to listen. Ugh!
"Great story of love, friendship, heroism"
Great story well told and well read. I struggled with The Iliad and The Odyssey when I read them at university. This modern take on the story of Achilles provided a way into the story that worked for me.
The point at which narrator began to speak after his death. I had wondered how the author would pull that off. She did it well!
His voice.
Yes.
"Robotic Reading"
I liked the story, but the reading was robotic. If this had been first Asimov book I listened to, I would have given up. Since I had enjoyed Prelude to Foundation and Foundation (with different reader) I stayed with it. But I will not buy another book with this reader.
